No. Front tyres are off a Tata Spacio while rears are off a Tat 1210!

I am VERY interested about this option. If I can atleast get either of these two from the factory, I'd be glad!

I will be talking to DSC Hyundai (Chennai) as it is the closest to my residence. Any suggestions / feedback on Hyundai dealers in Chennai?

About gear shifts in the Verna/Getz CRDI

If you try to hurry the gear shift, you will end up mis shifting and going into 5th , or worse, neutral.

trick is,
tap the gear lever forward out of 2nd with the clutch pressed,it will slide into neutral position which will bring it just at the opening for the 3rd gear slot. tap it once more and youre in 3rd.

do not use any sideways force on the gear lever when upshifting from 2nd to 3rd.

if you try and muscle it, you will end up in 5th.

Same thing to downshift from 5th to 4th.
tap backwards, let it slide into neutral position and then tap backwards once again to get to 4th.
problem is, in tight situations, all of us non professional drivers tend to push the gear lever sideways to make it faster.

I was a big fan of the Verna/getz gear shift initially. but I like it now.

I think, this is how we are meant to change gears in all cars anyway(most of you know that), but, in this gear shift the slots seem too close to each other. 1000kms and you'll get used to it.

The service is definitely good. I got a call back, got 6.29 as the on-road price. I've asked for a test car, and was told i will be contacted later this week. Black is what I wanted - but they dont have it in stock, so will take max of a month. They've got Silver, White and Golden Earth - but black is my colour!!! The test drive is merely a formality, as I hv already made up my mind!!!

HMP is very good. My friend & I TDed the verna diesel and getz last week and the sales exec there (Venkat) was quite well informed and attended to us patiently. He followed up with my friend too a couple of days later.

Contrast this with MPL Ford where we went for a TD of the Fusion TDCI. One of the sales guys was kinda indifferent while another was courteous. They didn't have a TD car available and promised to send it over to my friend's place. They seem to have forgotten all about it. I wonder how some dealers manage to sell so many cars inspite of being too busy for customers!!

Last edited by spindoc : 30th June 2008 at 20:21. Reason: Corrected - No getz diesel available for TD!

Hi,

will it fit in the stock rims or you changed to some alloys.
cos 195/60 MIN. RIM WIDTH should be 5.5 inches.
I think GetZ Crdi has 5inches rims.
Please let me know.

Getz CRDi rims are 5j..
In our family one Getz is running on 195 and the other is on 185...Both are running without any problem.
