Nice travelogue and pics. That's a nice story of "Gudbud". BTW, what was the FE you got in the whole trip? Did you claim the insurance on the damaged parts of car?

I got a FE of 15 for the whole trip with ac ON for 70% journey.
Usually Bangalore-Mysore trips, i get upto 17 FE.

The bill came upto 62k. 42K from Insurance and 20 from my pocket, as most of the parts were Plastic or fiber which means 50% pn both sides.

Fiesta has low ground clearance, which is a fact. Knowing that, i drive accordingly.... But i should say it handles bad roads pretty well... But there is a slight steering vib..... But its negligible. Braking is a bit of a prob for this power on Fiesta 1.6. Braking could be better.

Do u recognize the snake based on the very obvious braod triangular head?

Nice writup and good pics. Your Fiesta looks stunning.

Your travelogue comes at right time for me as I am doing Dharmasthala - Kukke - M'lore - Udupi - Manipal this weekend. I am planning to take Agumbe - Shringeri - Chickmagalur route on the way back.

Interesting story about Gudbud and Diana. I thought Ideal Icecream Parlor in M'lore invented Gudbud.

Glad to know that you and your wife escaped unhurt from the accident.

Actually, there are 3 parlours. One Ideal's in Hampankatta, one Ideal's in Milagres, and one Pabba's at Lalbagh - all started by one Prabhakar (Pabba) Kamath

I kept wondering for a few seconds what kind of fight did you have, that too throwing vermicelli at each other... A variation of barfight?

Then the tubelight went on. It is Parfait.

And two more inside the Infy campuses there.

I love Pabbas for its location and general ambience (not when it's too crowded though). And yes, for Gadbad and Parfait too.

Hi Pramod,

Amazing Pictures both the car and the places, the snake was really long, how close were you while you shot the pic.

Did you have a chance to drvie down into the northern Kerala anytime. I plan to drive back from Kannur to Bangalore in the 3rd week of October.

Please let me know

Nice pics and travelogue, Pramod. Your Fiesta 1.6 looks fabulous. I'm glad it is ship-shape now after the repairs.
By the way, is it a 1.6 zxi?

vnabhi,
It is a 1.6 ZXi, which was releases as a fida Edition, which came with alloys, kenwood mp3 player, and all the goodies for 7.7 onroad. It came with only 2 colors - Panther Black and Copper Rust, Hence opted for the obvious

Nice write up. Nice photos. But sorry to hear about disaster. By the way why did you avoid the Banglore - Tumkut – Tiptur – Hassan . (I think this is the bus route ) I am not sure about road conditions and distance.
Sticking to basic thing to wear seat belt is very good on your part. Felt very happy to hear nothing happened serious. Please post how much you are charged at Cauvery ford for repair.
