Had a wonderful meet, guys. Here's my report:

Met up with Adheesh at 10 am and joined the gang. Soon, we proceeded in a convoy along the expressway - Cyrus (Bolero) and Rony (Baleno) led the way, followed by Me (Swift), Srini (Laura), and Sameer (Lexus).
The surprise waiting for us at the Big wheels cafe, was that the Pune guys had actually got along their Fiats ! Wow, some guts to get them out in these rains..
Had a nice session, interactions / meetings followed by lunch. The conversations flowed naturally, as would the atmosphere demand - Fiats, Food, Friends, and Fun !

Had a series of adventures on the way back, with Adheesh piloting my Swift . My God, this guy's driving has me floored ! We were doing impossibly fabulous speeds (even with the rains pouring down, and my 'due-for-replacement' 60000kms old tyres hydroplaning at the slightest pretext !!) Adheesh was treating each car in the right lane as a new challenge, and zipping ahead (with remarkable control, I must admit). We did have a couple of heartstopping moments, when we nearly missed a turn and had to cut (a mild term) a few motorists to get back on course..

Home safe and sound, awaiting photographs from Rony and co !!
Hey Adheesh, thanks for driving my steed the way she's meant to be driven .
And thanks for the fabulous jewellery - the Italian "TEX" wiper arm / blade for MRX 6839. It's going to look fab !

It seems Ravi had it in his ride. Adheesh I presume has cut his teeth on a fiat.
Had a good experience today, was driving a friends Omni with absolutely non existent brakes and a stubborn steering, while some doubted, one said- 'Yeh fiat chalata tha, kuch bhi chala lega'

FCCCI Monsoon Drive to Lonavla - Pictures 1st August 2010

It was another super FCCCI monsoon Drive and all of us had a great Sunday at the "BIG WHEELS MOTORING CAFE" between Lonavla and Pune.
It was approximately 120 kms from Sion ahead of the famous Sunny Ka Dhabha and Tony Ka Dhabha off Lonavla.

After meeting up at Sion, Mumbai cars took off from Sion around 1030 am and we reached the Location at noon where we were welcomed by the FCCCI - Pune family and their FIATS. Surprisingly, all the mumbai members had come in their daily rides other than their FIATS whereas it was very encouraging to spot the Pune members in their daily rides which were indeed their FIAT babes. The weather couldn't have been better and it was the best time of the year for this one memorable drive with FIATS, FRIENDS, FOOD and lots of FUN. The FUN Factor was added in the introductory speech given by Mr Sameer Kadam, our esteemed FCCCI member, who has an amazing collection of Vintage and Classic cars.

We have missed the members from Mumbai and Pune who couldn't make it but I can surely say that they will make up for this in the future FCCCI Drives and events that are only getting better with time, as we can all see.

Members List who participated from Mumbai:-

1. Cyrus with Rutwij and Aditya - Brand new & really FAST Mahindra Bolero.
2. Rony with wife Pervin & friends Chirayu & Sonia - Suzuki Baleno - musical melody.
3. Ravi with Adheesh: Swift - probably supercharged. (The car I mean and not Adheesh.)
4. Sameer Kadam with Shushank - Toyota Land Cruiser. (We felt warm & protected)
5. Srinivasan with son Varun - Skoda Laura - sun roofed.
6. Abhishek (Speedy), running stag - Toyota Fortuner - our perpetual Escort.
7. Firoze Mehta & Wife - Baleno - took off from home but turned back due to a technical problem. Hope "ALL IS WELL" with them by now.

And now, let the pictures do the talking. Forgive me for not captioning the pics as it is really time consuming on this busy monday morning.

What an awsome weather, how much I miss pune and the nearby exotic locations. I had once gone to sahara valley, further upwards from lonawala in the same time of year, what roads and what climate, awesome.
