148 BHP Tata Aria comin' up?

Tata Motors is reported to be working on a more powerful version of the Aria crossover. MotorBash have released a brochure of the Aria which is going to receive a 10 BHP power bump and some additional features.

The Aria will now be powered by the same 2.2L Varicor diesel engine but tuned to churn out 148 BHP of power & 320 Nm of torque. Also, the fuel efficiency is expected to go up to 15.05 kmpl.

On the exteriors, the most significant changes will be the addition of projector headlamps and some body decals. On the inside, the car will get a JBL-Harman music system. Expect a few more minor tweaks, both, inside & outside.

All the existing features on the Aria are expected to be carried forward. Also, another rumour doing the rounds is that the Aria will come with an automatic gearbox soon.

Having sold just 57 units in the month of Feb '14; only time will tell if this power & feature bump can provide Tata Motors with a bump in sales as well.
