Bajaj Pulsar CS400 to launch in August 2016

The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 will officially be launched in India in the month of August 2016. This announcement was reportedly made by the company's CEO, Rajiv Bajaj, at Bajaj Auto's recent Annual General Meeting (AGM). The CS400 will be the largest capacity motorcycle produced by the Indian automaker.

Bajaj first showcased the CS400 as a concept at the 2014 Auto Expo. The company says that CS in the bike's name means Cruiser Sport, depicting its characteristics of a performance cruiser. The production model would get slightly toned down exteriors, as compared to the concept. Major changes include the presence of telescopic forks at the front, rather than the Up-Side Down units of the concept, while the single seat of the concept has been replaced by a split-seat setup.

The Pulsar CS400 shares its underpinnings with the KTM Duke 390. It uses a similar 373.2 cc engine, but gets Bajaj's triple-spark technology. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike will come with front and rear disc brakes and optional dual-channel ABS.
