Bajaj Pulsar CS400 to launch in Q3 2016

Bajaj's upcoming flagship motorcycle, the Pulsar CS400 will be launched in the next quarter. According to media reports, the launch would be before this year's festive season. The Pulsar CS400 was originally showcased as a concept at the 2014 Auto Expo, and was recently spotted testing.

The production-spec Pulsar CS400 will get a slightly toned-down design, as compared to the Pulsar concept showcased earlier at the 2014 Auto Expo. As a result, the Pulsar CS400 will get regular telescopic forks at the front, instead of the Up-Side down units found on the concept bike. The single seat of the concept has been replaced by split-seats, while the exhaust unit too has been made a bit more production-friendly. Other design elements like LED headlights and taillights, fully digital instrument cluster, and alloy wheels have been taken forward to the production model.

Though information about the power plant is still scarce, the Pulsar CS400's engine will likely be based on KTM's 373.2cc engine, which powers the KTM 390 Duke and RC 390. Bajaj will use its famed triple-spark technology to enhance the CS400's performance. The engine will come mated to a 6-Speed gearbox.

Marketed as a 'Cruising Sports' bike, the CS400 will be squarely aimed at long-distance touring enthusiasts.
