Tata displays Iris Electric, Hybrid bus at FAME Eco Drive

Tata Motors showcased the Iris Electric and Hybrid bus at the FAME India Eco Drive.

The Tata Iris EV is based on the Magic Iris. It is a zero emission solution in the last mile public transport space and is suitable for shared public transport. It is runs on electricity, powered by a Lithium Ion battery module of 200Ah @ 72V. It has a fully closed body and can accommodate 4 passengers has a motor that puts out 13 Kw and 43 Nm of torque. The company claims that it as a range of up to 120 kms with two battery modules. It can comfortably and is ideal for Smart City shared public transport.

Tata Hybrid buses are hybrid CNG electric vehicles that can be scaled to full electric buses. Ten similar CNG electric hybrid buses are already running in the city of Madrid, Spain and have covered more than 4 lakh kms. They have been designed and manufactured in India. Tata Motors also tested them in Delhi and Mumbai during commonwealth games.
