| ![]() <QUOTE> Police stop jeep races Vikarabad town, news line: Hordes of people came from Vikarabad town to witness these events. Some of them informed the police. Police in Parigi were informed as the vehicles had already crossed Chittampalli. Police reached the adventure zone inquiring the vehicles' details. Later, Vikarabad DSP Ashok, CI Ramakrishna and SI Renuka came and witnessed the stunts. The DSP sternly questioned the club members how they could participate in dangerous events without permission from the police/authorities. He ordered them to stop the activities and leave the place </quote> Utter nonsense by the press. Was there, lovely terrain, the team of organizers had taken a lot of pain to pull of this one. The unfortunate political situation in the state and some ten to twenty odd un employed youths in bikes fueled the fire. We were the ones in hundreds..not them The first batch had gone through while the second and third batches were forced to leave. The organizers had obtained the permission of the forest department. It was almost under control while the above mentioned officials came and exercised their authority as their ego s were not satiated. |

| ![]() was looking forward for lots of pics, until i came to know of the same in TV9 morning news . IMO the situation might be due to ongoing political situation and also the pink brigade trying to earn some quick mileage and moolah . ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() Great. The pink brigade can hold a city to ransom for days and get away with it but a few guys having fun with their jeeps for a couple of hours is a law and order problem. Where are we headed? |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Yesterday, far away somewhere inside Hosur forests I heard this news @ 10AM. Felt very sad for the community. All this because of ego problem of 'ask the boss first'. But take it positively guys, next time go in with 'proper' permission and share any permission costs if any amongst all participants. That should take care of all known problems to jeeping community over the last 2-3 years! |

| ![]() And the news report just shows the intelligence of the journalists who work for these news channels. PS: We were wearing orange t shirts as opposed to the report where they said green ![]() |

Its clearly mentioned as "pasupu-pacha" which means "yellow" in telugu. The translator(here in teambhp) might have got confused by "aaku-pacha" which is "green".

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() That is the news, and the top cop on the spot got his 20 seconds of fame (I was witnessing how the gloating cop was airing his comments to a village journo on a bike with a handycam). The effort of the O team and their planning was extremely good, a tough track, a great location, a turnout of 60 (fully equipped) Jeep's ...It was a unfortunate the way it had to end. It took days of effort/ planning by the organizers, eagerness and anticipation by (us) over a 100 participants. vs 20 minutes of mischief by some jobless youth and a 'wanna be' politician on a bike with a flag and a dozen cops.... who stole the show. Vikram (Headers) was with us, a pleasure and the only outstation entry I think was Arbaz with his gang from Gulbarga, Karnataka in his black Invader with tractor tyres. Well..better luck next time guys. ![]() |

DKG, you've got an amazing machine - Preserve it !! Fazal Sir: Your Jeep - Arka Spec has come out real well. I do hope you enjoy more offroad with the vehicle. I'm impressed with the Jeeps ability to cruise at 80kph and not overheat! Just back in chennai - let me get my pics sorted before i post. Note to MOD: The Tbhp app for android is very very slow and does not help much. This is just FYI Cheers

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Wish people didn't screw up some harmless fun for stupid reasons. Some great turnout of Jeeps as we have come to expect of Hyderabad! Since we don't have any legally-marked out 4wd trails in India, we will always be sitting ducks for such protests/mischiefs motivated by anything however trivial it may be. I guess once we have a wider audience/market for offroading we'll probably have that opportunity too. Quote:

Connection speed there is no solution unless telecom companies do something about it. EDIT: Please post this feedback on the app thread also, that would help.

The pleasure was all ours, just hoped for a more eventful day which we could together enjoy, as it was coincidental that you happened to be in Hyderabad and could attend the OTR. It was like we met before (Team BHP magic) honestly. Deepak's Jeep is a real performer, yet a classic. The LYNX does great on roads as off road, I did 70-80 kmph all the way to Lonavala and back and the heat gauge never crossed the 80 mark...still I am driving without a shroud. Will need one before summer. Quote:
Here, the organizers had the required forest permission and we were on forest land, on the first obstacle at the time the cops came in and ended the show. We don't need legal permission to travel on the road that leads to the forest fringe as this is a public road, so where was the law breached? But then who is to reason this with inflated ego's?? Yes, it is the same Arbaz who put his stock Invader on every obstacle in AKC and EXAMM. with his team prodding and rallying behind him..yelling "Nikaal Nikaal Nikaal" (take it out). This time too he followed this event on T BHP and managed a late registration...armed to the teeth, but he will be back again I am more certain of it, than my own participation. It was a pleasure meeting you too. Regards,
