Hi Santosh,

The Front Left (Short Axle) got cut and further damaged the FWH too.

Re: TPC2012 - INDIA's Toughest Off-Road Competition

Arka, I was thinking of this idea a long time ago...

For a event like TPC, AKC, Examm (extreme and in-excess of 2 days of hardcore offroading) why not suggest participants to change to OE flange. A mech's services can be used at AZ (base camp) at a nominal charge for removal-refitting. (experienced guys need only 15mins per vehicle)

Benefits
1) avoiding situations like above (and lamda doesnt sell 1 side FWH! waste of the other working FWH)

2) neednt fiddle around with a leatherman to release the FWH's (locked under torque)

In 2011 (IIRC) and (IURC) Rajkumar from salem lost his ill-fit FWH on tarmac just before the trail and lost his hub/bearings etc and you helped with spares.

Just a thought...

Hi Santosh,

15mins X 40Vehicles = 600mins = 10hrs.

Please suggest the nominal charges.

I think I'll leave the onus of enduring Front Axles and Hubs solely on the vehicle owner/driver.

Regards,

Arka

Re: TPC2012 - INDIA's Toughest Off-Road Competition

Hi everyone, the TPC 2012 O-Team completed the last of the grueling recces yesterday.

The special stages that we have marked out are all precisely that, special. From custom crafted obstacle courses that have been carved into the earth deriving from the darkest depths of merciless off road monster Arkaprava Datta’s imagination, to ultra challenging special stages on the sand that will mock participant’s futile attempts to tame them, The Palar Challenge 2012 has it all. There’s a reason we made roll cages mandatory this year and I certainly hope yours is up to the mark gentlemen because you might need it sooner than you think. As challenging as the obstacles are, keep in mind that it is always much more rewarding overcoming a challenging obstacle than it is your average driveway ramp. From that perspective, this year’s Palar challenge promises to be the greatest one yet.

We’ve been working hard to ensure that the event goes off as best as it possibly can. The stay, food, drinks, availability of mechanics, coordination, and prizes have all been arranged to ensure that you get much more than your money’s worth when you are participating in the event. The Chennai O-Team has certainly worked hard to make this a high caliber event and we are sure that you will notice.

We look forward to your safe arrival on Friday morning.

Re: TPC2012 - INDIA's Toughest Off-Road Competition

A combination of work-time-lines+personal engagements(close cousin's marriage) means that I will have to sit this one out.

All the best wishes to the O-Team....may the obstacles this year be more challenging and demanding than ever before !

All the best wishes to all the participants...hope all of you enjoy tackling the challenging obstacles thought-up by the O-Team!

More than the winning/losing, it is the spirit of participating that matters (IMO).

I am sure that TPC 2012 will be a gratifying off-roading experience for all .
