Off-the-road in Jaipur

Guys, nothing much happening in Jaipur so thought of starting a thread to cover all our mini expeditions off the road in Jaipur.

To begin with OTR on 20th Sept 09, in the riverbed in Jagatpura. Only one jeep and a Pajero. We used GPS and google map to reach the riverbed, Had fun in sand and tried small climbs and all and then came to this water body.

I just can't resist myself when I see water. Guess I should get my jeep fully waterproof soon. After little fun on the side took the plunge (literally) for the tractor path. I really enjoy myself in the center. Stuck real bad, it took two tractors to pull us out. hehe.

Call us to Jaipur or Sariska, that place would be nice with a dam there. Hopefully we can camp there and make it a family affair this coming weekend.

A video: Going in getting stuck and then first we called one tractor, it sank and got stuck. He himself called for another one to pull him out. (Luckily they all were working nearby digging sand)

First tractor asked for money and when he himself got stuck Vivek said that now he will pay the second one to pull him out.. Was fun.. We didn't start the jeep after that, hope the water is not inside. I will start it after a complete checkup of airfilter, fuel tank etc.

What about the pajero? Was it able to make it across the water body or did you decide not to attempt the crossing in the pajero?

Just came back from workshop, no damages at all. Only the self needs service. It started with little push. The Mechenic told me for next time to take off the fan belt and put a long hause pipe before airfilter and then it wont stop.

@Astleviz: It was just two vehicles therefore we decided not to try Pajero.

Thanks dwaraka, everything is fine, the water has not entered fuel tank or engine. Got everything checked today differentials, gear oil, engine oil, fuel tank etc. Only the starter and air filter needs service, everything else is good.

Time to fit Snorkel. If snorkel was there you could have gone in momentum.

lol.. A little right turn would have saved all the trouble. See in the pics above were we were standing later in water. It is hardly knee deep.

The ground below was not slushy or slippery at all but was very sticky. It was sucking the shoes in when we were trying to lift our leg. May be that is why the jeep didn't lost traction till so far, it got stuck in a pit, bad luck..
