I'll post my share of pix after i get home.

Ok Sir. Here are the 'initial' report.

This was my first OTR after a long gap. Was not decided if I could make it till the last moment. And even though I reached the first spot by 6am, I still had doubts if I will ever make it for the OTR.
Thanks to the tractor. lol:

We started from Koramangla around 6:30am. Me & vijay in his tractor, and his friend Archit in his newly bought Gypsy. I mean, he had bought this newly, and its the first OTR for that vehicle. its the old carb 1.3 one.

And Archit, you have really got a great vehicle.

The doors open and the tractor comes out after stripping its tops. As soon as the tractor reaches the road it started feeling so shy that it just refuses to move.

Me: How long was it since you showed the roads to this guy?
Vijay: May be 10months.

I was like, ok that answers the question and asking him if we should leave him and fetch his regular vehicle.

He jumps out, checks diesel, checks throttle and finally it screams. Ok, we are set. He moves 2 feet and again same problem. After humpty tries he says something should be problem with the fuel lines. Its blocking. Ok, lets dro this guy back. Take a U-turn and start. And it moves in a pace where even our snails will beat it.

Then we call Archit and the tractor is finally towed.

What's an OTR without opening this???

22. Avinash Yet again!! actually its my partner naveen - CJ500

as a brief re-cap, the above were the initial list up of cars but obviously not that many ended up there.
2 of my entries didn't make it (21 and 22) both not in the right state for an OTR.So i went till the venue in my alto!!
Omi in the defender (14) also didn't make it.
Giri (03) did make it to the 1st rendezvous point but didn't come come to the trail.
sv santosh (07) too did not make it with his cj 340.

There definitely were many more from out of that list. Maybe as pix flow, we'll know each of them and their rides.

I was there for the 1st challenge only. I had to get back for a lunch get together at home which was planned long ago.
This was my 1st OTR (albeit as a spectator) and i learnt a tremondous lot.

Guys Sorry couldnt make it, more as a precaution. While doing pre-OTR checkup on saturday evening I noticed battery had a kilo of white salt deposit!! I hadnt started the Jeep for more than a week. I had to crank it a bit longer for it to start. I drove it around for half hour to charge it, and decided to get the battery fluids topped up on sunday, rather than conk the battery and give others a tough time in the OTR.

Where are the pics guys... please post them soon :)

Hey, right Avinash. You parked your Alto on the top and I parked mine a little further. No big difference! lol:

The track and the abuse (as per me) the vehicles took was too high a risk and I certainly did not want to do it. Add the concern of getting stuck and not have any options to get pulled out. Deal sealed - Spectator hat worn.

And also that of a recovery vehicle.

Good team, lot of passion, come-what-may attitude and also a great spot!

Let the photos do the talking: (Thanks to MJothi for the snaps. My camera, his talent!)

Hey Krishna!

Yup; going to post all of the shots I have.

I know how boring it is if OTR photos are not put up within a reasonable time frame; the interest is lost.

So, am doing what I expect & like others to do! :)

Thankfully, have some time on hand, as well!!!

Thats a nasty pit, very innocent looking but looking at that stuck willy i can imagine the trouble that pit is!

To hell with you 4 wheels OTR bullies! I am going to do it with my two wheels!!!

And the Willy is pulled out!
pix from the OTR: 1st Nov '09 Pearl Valley-100_4401.jpg

Looks are deceiving; not only for the track, but also the vehicles that do them! A great vehicle! No stopping this guy!

Question: Was this the same place that Spidy was having issues climbing???

It looks like everybody is trying to splash as much slush as possible into the willy?

@happywheels, add some "nice captions" to the pics.

Wow! Do I see a child in the passenger seat of the gypsy?
