Most of us in Bangalore have the steel tow rope. Are comfortable with it. Got it from the shop mentioned above in this thread above itself.

Cheers,

I'd like to add a great product which i've been using for a year now. LED flashlights for camping, off-roading etc. A brand called Fenix is now available in Bangalore. These lights are comparable to Surefire in build quality and are available in multiple configurations. I carry the E20 model in my jeep permanently and if I need extra lumens then the TK11 goes on my belt.

My maglite re-chargeable has been retired after the arrival of the Fenix lights. Compact and extremely powerful. The E20 can also be used as a lantern/flood light by unscrewing the head. The beam is also focussable on the E20.

The manufacturer website is www.fenixlight.com

The lights are available through,

Adventure Edge
Phone: 98451 49783
Adventure Edge!, Indias leading outdoor equipment store
Looks promising. Is it available in Delhi, and where??

SirAlec, they will ship to Delhi via courier at actuals. I know this because a friend of mine from Mumbai ordered a couple of E20 lights and received them a day after making the payment.

I couldn't resist one after seeing this abuse test on an earlier model called the T1, chibato's Fenix T1 Abuse Tests - CandlePowerForums

Cheers

Hi guys, great thread.

I have seen PP woven straps being used for towing, they come in all kinds strengths, we used a lot of 2 ton and 4 ton straps for lashing stuff down in containers in Mumbai. Company called "strapping solutions" sources some from overseas.

Trying to remember the name of those shops in Mumbai where they drop forge D-Shackles and stuff.... will come to me, there are lots of them, mostly for marine/cargo use.. They would also happily fabricate the shackles at both ends of the straps for you.

Hi
I don't know about the M&M tow hook but was in Mayapuri in the afternoon and was inquiring about the gypsy towhook.
That was about Rs.450. So a towhook for the 5650 should also be in the same range.
Cheers
Harjeev

4x4 market in Calcutta?

How's the 4x4 Jeep accessories market in Calcutta?

I will be in Calcutta over this weekend and would love to meet up with Jeepers from there.

I am also hoping to buy accessories and original spares if i can lay my hands on any. Where is the market for the same in Calcutta?

MODs, i could have put this in Shifting Gears Meet Section but the true 4x4 enthusiasts never look anywhere other than the 4x4 section. Thus posted here.

Heres an addition to the list..

Karnataka Iron and Steel manufacturers.
Balmatta - Bendoorwell road,
Next to supriya Motors
Mangalore - 1

This is a fabricator who does anything with steel and Iron, depending on your requirement.

I have seen them fabricating

D shackles,
Skid Plates,
Bull bars,
Roll bars

And anything you have in mind. you just need to draw it, tell them the gauge and show it to them. and its done.

Price is comparatively on the lower side than other fabricators. If you are in Mangalore its worth a look
