MM 540 from Goa

My MM540 , took me a long time to build due to "susegaad" attitude of the workshop owners , but at last its here. Thanks to all here in the 4x4 section for their inputs and dinar for his help and sourcing me the head lamps.
Its running the original 4.90 DP engine, with koyo power steering , hydraulic clutch and vacuum assisted brakes.
One piece snorkel , four bucket seats and 31x10.5" Cooper tyres on 10j wheels. Planning for an engine upgrade trying to source something nice. Have the toyota 14b in mind but I hope i come across something even better.
Pics of vehicle when all mechanical work started:

Re: MM 540 from Goa

Excellent makeover. The metallic paint and the alloy+tyre combo with the winch up front have totally changed the look of the jeep. More details on the alloys make, cost and from where you have procured.

Re: MM 540 from Goa

Super color!!.. I had planned on a shade of green for my Jeep, but this gives me ideas.

btw, how does metallic colors fair in OTR's? Also, how do you plan to install soft top?. Any pics to share?

Re: MM 540 from Goa

Thanks guys,
@shekaran : all details are shown in the pictures itself, i know it looks confusing , but if u keep starring at it you will figure it out the same way i did , if not give me a call i'll explain it to you.

@ Kandisa : the tyres and alloys were bought quite some time back , so dont know whether the same pricing applies.Pune Tyre house ( Vikram ) has similar set , you can check with him.

@dhanushs: You can check renegades thread , his last post talks about scratches etc to his jeep. Its getting a soft top ( half ) today, will post updated pics later in the evening.

Action pics are still yet to come , having issues with power steering pulley, the original one comes for a different "nerling" type belt , and 540 uses "V" belt pulleys , i used a industrial pulley but it keeps slipping on load. If anyone can help me solve this problem it would be much appreciated. I have attached a pic of the pulley. The inner hole diameter in 1.5cm and overall size of the pulley is 14 cm.

Re: MM 540 from Goa

nc1bad,

Your Jeep has a nice stance, well proportioned.

Body and paint job is very good, Onyx wheels look good, nice fabrication of roll bar and snorkel, nice fender flares etc.

Get rid of the rear step ladder and the two piece rear bumper and fit Commander bumper corners on the inner bumper, the rear end will look better.

The seats upholstery...something needs to be done to match the rest of the quality on your Jeep, presently they look dull.
Regards,
