Nissan Patrol Y61

Guys just picked up a patrol to add to my collection, on the 24th Sept 2011. this one is a 4.2l straight 6 petrol, mid line variant and of course RHD. With company installed Diff lock.
Some OTR pics of the stock vehicle taken sometime in Sept 2011, when we were testing the vehicle, This thread will also be a work in progress photolog of the mods that are being carried out on the truck but as of now these are the pics I could post.

Oh My God!

I have seen this Monster come alive in the last few days.

It just amazes me to see how Mohnish and GT Tuners go about their work, So professional and precise.

All the best Monish.

A true classic! Mindblowing machine, congrats Memo45! This gen is still in production in many markets...a true attestation to the timelessness of the Y61. I love the look, except for that awkward front grille and can only hope you plan to change it.

This particular example seems to be in amazing shape. Got it from Mumbai? If you don't mind sharing, how much? How many kms? AT or manual?

Congrats again & do drive safe.

If you ask me, there is a lot of similarity between the Patrol & the Landcruiser 80 series.

Thanks GTO, when I picked it up it had run 34500, and now its at 39647. Got it for 12lks, was a bit costly but a clean and neat car/truck. Yes was a Mumbai (embassy) vehicle. Its a 5speed manual with a factory diff lock for the rear. And also just upgraded to 305/70R16 Maxxis Buckshot's from 275/70R16 Yokohama Geolanders H/T's.

You are LUCKY! American consulate? They have a thing for Japanese SUVs. I've seen the way Consulate vehicles are maintained, absolutely top class and it shows in your ride. 34,500 kms means she is still a virgin. These patrols are known to last beyond 4 - 5 lakh kms in no-mans-land. Plus, you got a manual transmission. I would say 12 lakhs is a very good price. What else do you get for that? A Scorpio or an Innova ???

Was this listed on any classifieds or did you hear about it through contacts?

Another Q : Will you retain the regular tyres? These SUVs are exceptionally good long-distance tourers (petrol FE aside).

Wow, such macho looks, haven't seen any of them in a long long time, and buying from one of the consulate folks means its maintained in top class form with everything original. 12L is a steal for such a vehicle any day.

Was this imported by the consulate folks? Being a second owner of an imported vehicle do you foresee any problems in terms of parts availability etc?

Re: Nissan Patrol Y61

Congratulations on the beast, I am looking for the beast too, But I would go for the 2 door version, I have always been a fan of the patrol, this beast if modded with intentions has beaten the Murceliago. But its offroad capabilities are the best.

Congratualtions once again, keep us posted on the mods.

GTO it was from a middle east consulate, have been asked not to disclose the country, Sorry. Got it through a good friend, here in B'lore itself, he took all the trouble and got the vehicle and got the paper work through for me.
And also I have already swapped it the tires to the Maxxis and the Yoko's will be going on the Xenon.

Ya buddy once this is out in pubic view you will see a lot more, that is my guarantee. No as there are many of these around and everything is available in Mumbai itself,
And for this project we (me and missus) have a unlimited budget. (is this not a big give away)

Re: Nissan Patrol Y61

The best Patrol yet. I used to work for Nissan ME & lot of offroader-locals used to swear by Y61 & swear at the (then) new "sissy" Patrol.

Very good buy @ decent price.

Congrats.

Re: Nissan Patrol Y61

Sorry for no updates, was busy with the shoot for the patrol, as of now Maxxis Buckshots 33x12.5"(35" not available) tires are on the car, also the Ironman4x4 Suspension, Bull-Bar, 9500lbs Winch, Snorkel are all installed.
Other wise
1> Engine tuned up, de-carbonized/tappets adjusted.
2> Under body treated/ painted.
3> Minor tinkering work and door setting done.
4> Did some of the Interiors up, got some of the panels wrapped in CF.
5> Put the ICE together, Motevo (double din) in-dash with GPS, Kicker components in the front and rear doors and Kicker 6x9's in the back, with a Pioneer 1000w sub all running through a 2 and 4-channel JBL amps(was in the car installed by the previous owner, just pulled out all the wiring and did it right to get it all working), and installed a new power antenna.
6> Installed a Dual-Band with Repeater Kenwood Vhf.
7> Bumper is off as of know standing ready to accept the new Ironman4x4 bull-bar and 9500lbs Winch.
8> Modified the bracket for the Rear Brake Proportioning Valve.
9> Made brackets to Drop the Rear Bump Stops.
10> Also made the bracket to remount the spare wheel carrier on the rear door the accommodate the 33" Buckshot.

Also attaching the measurment pics of the hight of the standard truck in the order of left front of 30", left rear of 30", right rear of 29.5", and right front of 29.25", As the pics show the measurement is taken from the base of the fender to the top of the inner part of the rim. And also the measurements was taken from the conners of the side steps also for refrence which stood at 15" on the left and 14.5" on the right.

Hello Memo, that's a beauty you have there.

Questions, what is the CF wrapping.?, did u get them in BLR.?, again what prices, as I have seen a lot many modded cards with similar wrappings for the Bonnet and the Boot, looks cool.

Secondly, I see you have a dual band Radio, are you a HAM don't u need a license for it .?

Cheers!

Thanks Shivashanker, The CF wrappings I got down from Germany and was a DIY, don't know about the other brands but this costed me a good 13euros for a box of 100"x12". and yes what i have is a dual band and I am in the process of getting the license for the same, as I am in to Rallying and Organizing events where the use of these equipment is a necessity, I picked my own equipment(One for the patrol and one for the Xenon). I use them only for the events and when I have a Written permission for the Indian Institution of Hams(Mr SathyaPal).
