@samurai, I agree that its in good hands! But I would like to see the progress here on tbhp. His previous works are awesome! Im sure this one will be equally good too. if its not too much to ask, can you post some pics later if you get to see her after restoration?

Sorry for the late reply as i got the vehicle last week and the resotration work has been started. The 1.0enigne and the gearbox will be replaced by gypsy king engine and gear box.the mounting of the engine n gearbox as to be modified in chasis as directed by my mechanic.

Modification of engine mounting has been started today.

Are there any other difference apart from the engine mounts between the 1.3 and 1.1?

Not only the engine the gear box mounting should also be modified in chasis.the crown wheel ratio is also having changes between 410w and 413w.

Ok thanks, i wanted to know the bit about chassis, coz somebody mentioned that the dimensions were different.

Yesterday at a friends workshop I saw a Gypsy chassis and engine/gearbox etc.. The body has gone for repairs elsewhere. I've been told it's a auctioned gypsy from the northeast. There are a few parts missing. It's a widetrack with a 1300cc engine. The cyl head has been changed to a 16 valve type from an esteem. They are still to decide on the type CDI cos I believe the 16 V CDI will go into the firewall of this gypsy. I have photos of the chassis with the mechanicals on it. If anyone wants to see I can post them.

Thanks for the update Sachin (sashas). keep them coming! Hope things are going good!

Is it possible to match mg410w transfercase with mg413w gearbox as i will be using crown wheel of mg410w..gysy gurus pls help.

hey sashas: can you tell me the spline count of the front diff and rear diff in your gypsy?

cheers

I think it may be running on 45splines.
