Going to learn stuff like Clutch cable, Brake cable, Throttle cable, engine oil changing, Headlight bulb replacement etc. Basically will go for the first service at the Vasai service center where I know the guys and give them a hand, ask questions etc.

I am mechanically inclined thanks to my experience working with 2 wheelers (specifically rebuilding my RD350 in my bedroom) so it shouldn't be too hard. Better to learn and get practice so I can respond quickly if it happens in Leh. I don't want to be doing R&D in sub-zero conditions standing outside the vehicle.

I am in trouble. Again.

The wiring in my Gypsy is cut-and-taped at a few places and there is no coupler to connect it to OBD scanner. MSM service adviser advised me to change the whole wiring and I agreed.

They placed an order with Maruti for this; and after six months, I got the response that even they do not have it in their stocks. And according to MSM, it can take anywhere upto one month to procure this. I am surprised at this state of affairs; I preferred a Gypsy over a MM550 because Gypsy spares were supposed to be easy to source. But this isn't turning out to be so easy.

Guys, please help me in procuring these items. Or guide me about where can I find these -

abheekg, you mean t-case. Should be available in Mayapuri.

Gypsy parts are not available off the shelf, but on ordering with the Maruti dealers / spares distributers you are sure to get them in a fortnight time at the maximum.

My front right axel was cut and could not get in bangalore. I placed an order with one of the dealers and got it within a week's time from north.

Doc,
Just a thought. If you are finding it really hard to get one. I can give you a loaner 4x4 TC from my Green Gypsy (MG410) which is under restoration. I dont need it for another 1-2 months for sure. But then you have to help me find another one if you decide to keep it for good.
Regarding the price the last time I bought a TC for my red diesel gypsy I paid 12K and got it from scrap dealer in Trichur, Kerala who are getting these stuff from Mayapuri.

Need Gypsy Spares!

Hey,
I need a few parts for my gypsy - can anyone provide the exact Part Numbers from the MGP Catalogue?

Here's the list (all these need to be for a Gypsy 1.3 MPFi):
1. Rear axle oil seal
2. Gear-box Bearings
3. Rear differential pinion oil seal
4. Front balance rod brackets
5. Front axle tube
6. metal hinges for both doors, and bonnet.

I hope some one can help me out soon!
Thank you guys!

Just visit MASS and spend an hour pouring through their catalog there with somebody's help.

Re: Need Gypsy Spares!

That's a good idea, but for the next 2 weeks I'm going to be on a very tight schedule, and then out of the country. At this time, there's no way I can afford to drive all the way over to a MASS, and spend that kinda time there..

On the otherhand, if someone has already ordered these parts, or if someone has a pdf of the catalogue, I'd be very thankful.

Re: Need Gypsy Spares!

I see nothing useful in that list for a Gypsy. Mostly knick knacks for other cars.

Re: Where to source Gypsy Spare Parts

Would the part numbers in column 2 here be universal and the same as the Maruti identifiers? MB/GPW Group 10 - Front Axle
