Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8

Hi All

Finally got my hands on a well looked after Pajero, an import, which was used by the CEO of an MNC.

Single owner, present SFX shape with flared arches. Though it is of '98 vintage !! Runs better than many Pajeros (2006-2008) I tried out while looking for one to buy. EVERYTHING is in perfect working order. Infact it was fitted with a new Amaron Battery in front of me.

It is a single shade vehicle just that the lower portion upto the bumper is a different colour, (thank God for that) else I'd have had the rear white panels painted to the body colour. The only squeaks are from the folded last row of seats , which I will in all probability remove.

Overall a very engaging drive, responsive and a fairly quiet cabin. The pictures may give you some idea of the vehicle.

I always had a fancy for this vehicle (old school SUV) so now I have one !!

Cheers

Congratulations, this beast has some seductive powers. I was at the Mitsu service station to get my new Cedia checked but my attention was on all the Pajeros that were there. Even with the Outlanders and Monteros this is the one that makes your head turn.

Oh so this was what you were after. Congratulations.
I am sure we will get comparative analysis, both on and off the road, between Paj and GV soon.

Congrats. You should have asked people to guess the date of the Pajero

Well the Vitara happened to cross my path while I was looking at Pajeros. Never found a Pajero I liked & flipped when I saw the Vitara, it was / is a brilliant car. Most importantly - it suited my (bad) back. It will be daily drive or something like that. No serious off-roading for me. Just a small run here & there.

Thanks !! Like I said it had been some time that I was looking for a Pajero, always had this "thing" for Old School SUV's..this one seemed to fit the bill, so it took me less than 15 minutes to close the deal.

Turns heads yes, why ? I do not know, it's just a plain jane vehicle!

Yes Sudev, it was this !! Comparative analysis..hmmmm. Will take me a while for that. All I can say is the immediate difference is the huge torque of the Pajero is VERY nice, makes the Vitara seem a little anemic in comparison !

Thanks ! Yes I should have done that, it surely appears younger than it is !!

Congrats Ricky, she is a virgin worker. This is something I used to dream since when I was a kid, never loved the new mutilcolor editions. Eagerly waiting for more snaps to see whats inside her attire

Thanks - even I never quite could digest the weird rear quarter panel in white . Even if I ever bought the "multi coloured SFX" I would surely have gotten the rear quarter panel painted to the body colour.

The bonnet scoop & roof in white is fine though !! But as luck would have it I did manage to get a single body colour with the lower portion in a different colour which is fine !!!!

Cheers

Congrads Buddy,
It's a nice buy. It's hard to find Pajero's in such condition.
All the best with your new vehicle.

Congrats! whats the difference between this and the HM Paj.

I see this has some kind of widebody look with flared wheel arches.

Congratulations on the buy Ricky_63!!
Looks pretty well maintained for a 12 year old.

The Pajeros of today lack the charm and character that these babies had back in the day which they still retain to this day!!

Thanks, there is a difference in the way it rides, I found this a tad more comfortable. The build quality is nice & switches etc still go "click click" & the feel is still great. Can not really comment on the differences much, maybe some more experienced members can.

The flared design is the same as what is being sold as the SFX here in India.
