Thanks Red Liner - I think i may have burnt my finger this time. But definitely you are going to be on my Jeep friends list.

I have another question could this be a real 1962 willys at least as per the RC book, forget about the low bonnet conversion and stuff i just want to know whether this is a willys.

Willys never came in RHD unless you got the Post Department one - fairly unlikely.

Give me your jeep and 10 days straight (may be less), I will get this registered as a last batch (2001'ish?) CLASSIC - no question asked. And you will be the 1st owner.

RC book doesnt mean anything in this part of Tbhp. Its the tiny details that matters, and cant say until some good knowledgeable person sees the jeep in Person. I am not one

Ps - where do u stay in bangy?

Hi Hemanth,

To me it looks like a Hyderabad makeover jeep.

Check the chassis number on the chassis (right hand front), mostly army disposal CJ3B's are worked upon here in Hyderabad and you have a brand a new Ford or Willys.

If your chassis reads CJ3B, you have your answer.

Please refer to this thread where I have also posted a picture of a handmade Willys which had not yet rolled out of the workshop.

There are many orders from Bangalore for these vehicles, which means someone there is getting them built here and passing them off as originals. Beware since you are planning to buy another.

Very true

I agree with you Sir. I saw one @ CLassic Motors , Jayanagar Ashoka Pillar, Bangalore. Completly modified as CJ3B with diesel engine. Dealer was asking 3.5lks for 1962 model Jeep. Unfortunately registration number again was ADL ###
