Except for the raked large windscreen first one also is brilliant!!

A little tinkering on the wonderful work done by Salil.

Windscreen and Door job, would have loved to remove the side step but dont know how.

Looks good. The wheels need to be wider i think to make it look spot on.

Bear in mind i am no expert :D

Salil thats a great job man.

I was wondering if you could put the light and the snorkel of the Rubicon

Also may be mirrors from the Defender can be put to see how does it look

Sahil, somehow that side steps hurts me time and again!

BTW, all the best for your exams :)

I disagree to that... just give me a few days' time. :D

First I loved the confidence in these above lines.
Then comes up with something so good and basic.

Well done Salil!

I always loved the Thar or any other jeep this way, rugged looking and mean, the front bumper is something that has added so much required difference to its looks. Otherwise too I liked this particular design of all Thar pics I had seen prior to actually seeing it.

It is nice that this thread is coming back to its original intended topic.

Salil, good job and more from you is coming... I know it.
Also get rid of the Bolero indicators (they were on the Legend) and venture further for a better and different alternative.

If the Thar can be released in these looks, then not many are going to complain about the MM540 shell.

Your later rendering has made the windshield toooo sedan like.
Regards,

Excellent work Salil. That's what we wanted to see. This forum never fails to surprise me !!

Great detailing...let the ideas flow !!

I feel the tail lamp can be changed to something like this.

Pic's from Jassy1313's tread.

Salil, nicely done.pls show the hard top version too.

The center C or T ?? Pillar should be gone but retain the roll bar.
It should be given a more up-market feel rather than having it the same old style with that rectangular patch where the pillar meets the body.
The Hard Top & soft top options should be something similar to the below pictures -

Am I the only one who thinks that the wheel arches (front and back) should be similar? Here the rear is circular, while the front is not (straight at the top).
The Jeep (Rubicon?) has both front and back arches similar. So, if we could get both arches similar (say round without any flat), it will look better.

A semi-removable hartop just like the Wrangler (panel mounting - Top: 4 piece, Rear: 1, Sides: 2+2) would be amazing than a fully moulded one...the red Wrangler illustration would be a killer looking one...

I am game for Thar...I just Love it....I might not engage in hardcore rock-crawling and stuff but I would do as much I can in the realms of my sanity and my company's....I always wanted a 'compact and capable 4X4 SUV'.....this was a missing product segment far.....and 4X4 is a more recently picked and advertised form of outdoor adventure..

I've some few pics for sometime now...i wanted this arrangement for my Soft-Top Invader...never found a confident craftsman to execute it.....but i wish Mahindra offers such a 'Top' right off the showroom...

Love Team-BHP
Cheers
Pavan

@catchkumar,

this design looks good. Will have to check if this can be fabricated locally for all off road vehicles.

Plain jane is what i think looks best coupled with a snorkel, winch and good wheels. The fog lamps can be added as per individual choice.

Had a mini meet with Sanjay David, aka traveler here in Coonoor. That is one hell of a good looking vehicle with bare minimun however essential things. Thats how I would like a Tahr to look.

It's a nice concept on paper. In actuality, seams on a top are an invitation to leaks. Sad to say, here in 2010 with all of the modern tech answers, it is still hard to make a vehicle water tight. A one piece top with no seams is still the best answer if not the sexiest answer.
