@Amit: How much is cost of detailing and other services like sunfilm installations.

By any chance, will 3M exterior detailing remove minor scratches completely ?
heard it from a service manager in MASS during my last service. But i am doubtful about it.

no it will not.if there is any minor very shallow scratch which has not dug into the paint,then it may get removed

Quadra,has the dashboard reflection increased or reduced after installing front sun film?

You will get a personalized service, they will advise correctly and also you can get very useful tips to maintain the finish.
Call them and go over, i think you will get proper advise

I visited the 3M Car Care place in Pune yesterday to get the estimates. I was quoted the following prices

Exteriors -

Exterior Restore Advanced - Rs.3195/-
3M Paint Sealant Program - Rs. 4495/-
Interiors -

Essential Interior Clean - Rs.995/-
Premium Interior Clean - Rs.1495/-
Premium Interior Clean Plus - Rs.2295/-

So just wanted to know from the bangalore folks (who have used their services) the following points:
1) Are the above prices the same in Bangalore as well. Just want to ensure that the Pune guys are not charging more.
2) I heard that there is some 10% discount applicable for BHPians. :D Did anyone get it?
3) The 3M Paint Sealant program i thought was slightly expensive. Is it worth it?
4) How satisfied are you with the exterior and interior work.

At bangalore showrom Interior clean is 995 and premium is 1495 there was no premium plus , the only difference between interior clean and premium was , premium would use cleaning material which would dry faster .
The difference at 3M , i feel is the film would be original 3M , for liena they charged around 7K for front glass and 5 k for all round filming . but the executers i guess are not 3m trained, they seem to be some kind of contractors .

I have been to this place in RMV 2nd Stage. They dont call themselves 3M. Their shop name is DIRT BLASTERS. Owner/operator is Amit Shah (phone: 98452 73525. Email: dirtblasters@rediffmail.com.

Address: No. 5, 80 feet Road, RMV 2nd Stage, Ashwath Nagar, Bangalore - 94. If you know the restaurant "Neel", then its just next to it. From Hebbal side, come to the Ramaiah College signal. Take a left. It should be about 1 km or thereabouts from the signal, on your right hand side.

They had a 10+years old Santro that they have restored. All I can say is its amazing work!

These are guys who are 3M distributors also, they stock all 3M products and give to service centers.

I got the Under-body Anti-rust coating for my XYLO at 3M Car spa, HSR Layout, Bangalore this weekend. So wanted to give a review on how things are over there.

First and foremost things is that all the 3M staff are courteous and the owner (Mr Sidhu) is a wonderful person who takes care of each and every aspect a customer needs.

If you are first timer then he introduces all the products from 3M and make you comfortable with all the process and explains the price also. The products used are all 3M branded.

The quality is one of the best you can get. I got the warranty for 5 years and the under-body Anti-rust coating was done for 3771/-.

The facility has the ground floor and the basement. In the ground floor 3 cars can park next to each other and sun film work is done over here. All the car washing spray etc are done in the basement. The ground floor even has a place for the customers to sit and see how the cars are being worked upon(if it is sun films)

The whole facility is very clean and ambiance is also great. All the service guys are of top quality. They do very good job. You can rest assure after you give you car there.

Then they applied foam and washed it thoroughly.





They put a sheet on the sides before applying the Anit-rust coating to avoid is getting sprayed on the car body

Thank you for sharing the details shishir_bn. I'm planning to get the underbody coating done for my Scorpio. How long does it take for the complete process and is the cost, same as the Xylo?

Also, please do post some pics of the underbody, if you have taken any.

It takes 2 hours Max. The cost is same as XYLO as it falls under big car category(As per 3M). Underbody snaps I have not taken. Sorry for that.

Shouldnt they be letting the car dry first and then apply the underbody coating?? From the previous 2 set of pics (Spark and xylo) it looks like they wash and then immediately start with the underbody coating process.

They do leave it for some time + blow dry + wipe some parts + cover up some parts etc before spraying. But no it's not bone dry.
