Hi,

I also got my scorpio some long overdue TLC at SK Karzone. My vehicle came back driving smoothly and with a smile on her face!! It is indeed a good place to send your vehicle for servicing and other repairs.

Cheers

Got my Mahindra Scorpio Sle 65k service done by SK Karzone yesterday. Was fed up with Sireesh auto, after every paid service vehicle had to be taken back to fix some issue created by them, poor workmanship and lack of supervision and attention.

Heard about SK Karzone from a friend, and called Vinay and went there. Carried Scorpio service manual and previous service details to exactly do what is needed. Vinay adviced the details and also suggested to try out Synthetic oil for engine. He took me to store room and showed me various items, brands and price. For Scorpio mostly Bosch. Surprised to see MRP and what Mahindra was charging before. Less than 50% on some parts like break pads.

Technician started works and I could see exactly how and what they were doing. Hence I could also learn a few more this time.

Did following:
Engine oil flush and change to synthetic - Bosch
Rear transmission oil change
Oil filter and fuel filter change
Air filter change
Full electrical inspection
Full mechanical inspection and proper tightening of all bolts below
Clutch adjustment
Breaks cleaning and inspection
Washing and polish

Fortunate enough to meet Manoj Khanna and Appachu who jointly own the place. They were personally checking on progress (I met them for first time). They even invited me for lunch with them and had lunch watching Scorpio being worked upon. Both Manoj and Appachu has started this venture from their passion, they have close association with Mahindra and others for long time.

Finally took a photo along with all before leaving happy, both Scorpio and me. Honestly the Scorpio engine changed much smoother and responsive along with clutch being more lighter. They had predicted it before.

What I liked:
Excellent quality service
Price and cost effective, parts charged at mrp
Attention to detail and supervision
Working in front of your eyes

Saw at least 2 more team BHP members coming with other branded cars.

Thank you SK Karzone for this experience. Best wishes.

Hi narayanang,

what was the total cost ?also how are the labour charges ?
Yes one very big point you mentioned - parts charged at mrp. :thumbs up
Most garages get a 5-10% discount when they buy the parts and yet they add fat margin on it and bill it to us.

My total cost incl oil changes was 14K, out of this 7.5 K just for Synthetic Engine oil.

The paid service charge was less than 2K, incl consumables and washing, no addtn labor charges in my case. All my bills from Sireesh auto had them as separate items in addition to the paid service charges which was almost double to this above mentioned charge.

More than highlighting on pricing, I want to share my experience and the service received from SK Karzone.

Also I am sure this time that things have been attended to and oils have been changed, unlike before.

Scorpio has become much smoother to drive, engine noice has come down to large extent and clutch has become more smooth to use. So far so good.

THANKS SK KARZONE. Manoj Khanna Vinay Bhat Appachu Kallichanda

My 4th consecutive visit to Bangalore S.K.Karzone today for my Scorpio paid service. This time it was 80k service. Every time after the service vehicle is more lively, smoother to drive, have no issues.

The clear benefits I have been seeing by moving to SK from Sireesh auto are:

- less expensive. Service charges and spare parts way less expensive compared to mahindra service center

- excellent workmanship and supervision. Rest assured that if you ask for something to be done, it will be taken care. They also identify issues which you may not have observed and solve them. No unnecessary work also. Just what is required.

- some niche things like changing to synthetic engine oil, synthetic transmission/gear oil, intercooler servicing, regular replacement of clutch/brake oil etc are never carried out at mahindra centres. These things are done in front of our eyes @ SK and the difference is awesome.

This time followed one advice from Manoj Khanna and tried out an engine additive and after that the engine vibrations have got reduced to great extent. Scorpio feels more and more smooth after every visit to this awesome place.

Just hope that the league continues and more and more people benefit out of their excellent service and enjoy peace of mind.

My Santro had been (2008/54 Km) had been running with low mileage and substantial power drop since quite some time.
Hyundai service centers off late have been a sham (unnecessary add-ons, inflated bills & scarmongering).
Visits to other FNG garage to diagnose the issue had not helped till now.

Some good references from team-bhp, and I decided to take it to S.K. Karzone, Nerul, Navi Mumbai.
Met the owner, Mr. Manoj Khanna & Service Advisor, Mr. Prashant & explained the problem in detail.
Simply put, the car was running like a rickety old 100 yr old, huffing & puffing at every breath.

Mr Khanna scanned through the engine bay for hands-on check & talked at length about how they diagnose the potential problems.
He had quite a few scorpio's lined up at the workshop as well; impressive.
Also showed around his Baleno & the unique shades of colors he's created after several months of efforts.

The car needed a spark-plug change, a change of crankshaft bearings & more - at every check, there was a call from the service-center to explain need for change & confirm go-ahead.

After 5 days, the car was up & running as new!
The service-center even added 8-10 lt of fuel to test the car extensively before handing over.

Both Mr Khanna & Mr Prashanth explained that the crankshaft has developed a play & may need replacement in future.
For now the car is good to go for several thousand km.
Compare this to the experience at Hyundai service center where they were pushing for crankshaft replacement as soon as the car landed in their bay.

What I liked about them -
1. Passionate about cars, good knowledge, loyal customer base
2. Good workmanship, have driven the car for 20 days now & feel a big boost in performance.
3. Educate customers instead of scaremongering
4. Value-for-money - the labor-cost is reasonable & all spares are genuine.
5. Repair what you can, replace what you must - can't stress enough on how much this brings down the costs vis-à-vis ASC.
6. Customer-relationship - Mr Khanna called me the next day and after few weeks to check on how the car is running.
7. Well maintained service-center - The car-bay is well equipped & the hospitality & staff is courteous.

Would I go again -
Hell yes!
Peace of mind to have a very competent service-center which does not burn a hole in your pocket.

Regards,
Anurag

Did you type this by oversight as Mumbai instead of Bangalore.

If it is Bangalore one, any idea if they also handle Toyota cars? I want to try out some good FNG for oil change and similar smaller stuff.

Hi KK,

I was referring to the Mumbai centre.
They do have a centre in Bangalore as well (BTM if I remember correctly) and I have heard good things about it.
You may want to check.

I had been to SK Karzone Bangalore shop couple of weeks back to rectify an engine overheating problem with my CEDIA. It was my first visit and I would say I am pretty impressed with the quality of work and their transparency in dealings. The service center manager thoroughly checked the car and gave a list of things to be addressed with the priority and cost. I got the engine heating problem rectified and refilled AC gas at last service. At end of the day, I paid lot lesser than what I would have paid at ASS and came home much more satisfied knowing that this time the car was well attended than a mere body wash!

This place is closer to the Shoppers stop on Bannerghatta road and the good thing is, it out of the mad crowd of main road. Search for SK Karzone in google map; it is easy to locate.

I had given up on the Mitsubishi ASS because of the cost and poor workmanship. In fact I had been desperately looking for an alternative and it occurred to me that Mr. Manoj Khanna is one of the partners of SK Karzone. He was introduced to me by another senior member of T-BHP many years back. Traced his contact details and called him to check if they could service CEDIA. He send me a pic of his Mumbai shop with many BMWs and Audi's on the bay. That itself was an assurance. The rest is all good news.

Thanks for the replies. Now, I am quite confused. Where does Mr. Manoj Khanna usually operate from. Since, I see his name in almost every post of this thread and for Mumbai and Bangalore branches too.

Thanks
KK

He usually operates from Mumbai and visits Bangalore occasionally I guess. His partner in Bangalore is one Mr. Appachu and service centre manager is Vinay Bhat. You will be dealing with Vinay if you visit the Bangalore one.

Had a very nice experience dealing with them.

Vinay is very appraochable & suggests all possible ways to fix things rather than push for any replacements. In fact all their staff that i dealt with have are very accomodating & curteous. Suspected alternator was diagnosed well as i expected. No repair/replace needed.

Got some regular work like brake oil, air, cabin filters, coolant etc changed. Had a new battery installed, he suggested only amaron (no exide, sf sonic).

Overall costs on the bill was very nice to see :-) Very good pricing. Came to know they handle all kinds of painting, denting, bodywork, a/c work etc. All in all kind of workshop.

Although this was my first visit to them, will recommend them to others for sure based on my experience.

Any idea if they are knowledgeable about messing with the ECU (Engine Control Unit)?

I was considering asking them if they can fit an after-market cruise control kit for my SX4 (as described at:

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-do...control-4.html
and some other sites too)
