Sai Iyengar Tyres (Indiranagar, Bangalore)

Products sold:
All types of alloy wheels & Tyres. Main product line is actually tyres. Indian and imports.

Services offered:
Tyre fitments, Wheel alignment & Balancing.

What I like:
Honest straight-forward dealing. No-nonsense nature. Great service. Can source any tyre / size. Good pricing and the owner Ashwin is a great guy to have a conversation with and will source pretty much anything in tyres for you. I bought C Drives and HRS Wheels for my Innova from him.

What I don't like:
Limited space in the garage - can accomodate one car.
Not too many alloy wheel designs readily available at the shop. Shows them on the PC and then calls for them from the godown / elsewhere. Best for you to call in advance, and then visit.

Pricing: Great pricing, never more than the other dealers in town.

Speciality / USP: None in particular that I know of.
What I have bought from him: Alloys and tyres for my Innova.

Contact Information
- Name of the contact person: Ashwin Balaji
- Phone numbers: 65345866 / 2521922
- Postal Address: 3162, Domlur Service Road, HAL II Stage, Near ESI Hospital, Bangalore 560 038
- Helpful landmarks / directions: Very close to Figurine Fitness on the road from ESI Hospital toward Domlur

yeah, even I got my i10 alloys and tires from them. They are reasonable in pricing and also, can source anything that want.
I got mine installed from their Bannergatta branch, it's just before the IIM on the left side if you are coming from Jayadeva flyover.

They were able to get me M45, when I could not find it at any other place- that too, at good prices. I have brought couple of Michelins from him for my bikes, and have found him a nice guy to deal with.

I bought Michelin XM1 from him for my Santro. Overall nice experience.
Had referred to one of my friends and he too is happy with Ashwin's shop.

I've known Ashwin well, His shop was at CMH Road, 20 meters from my office

Now shifted to Domlur road, Used to go to him previously, but off-late he was not able to cater to my requirements

Prices have marginally increased. What would have costed 12.7k with him costed me 10K at a different dealer, just recently.

All the Best to him.

I have been happy with Sai Iyengar Indiranagar. I bought my MXV8 tyres and 15" alloys from Ashwin a couple of years back. Here are the + and - points I find:

What I like:
* Dealership for most tyre brands, and Michelin Priority Dealer
* Located nearby and outside the J.C. road like congested areas. Parking space is usually not a problem (atleast nearby)
* Modern and new wheel balancing and alignment equipment (brand new when he shifted from CMH road 2+ years back)
* Prefer the experience to the confusing array on J.C. road and around, and the typical topics with auto accessory shops there.
* Nice & clean rest area - not the usual tyre shop 'feel' !
What I don't like:
* Tyre balancing charges at ~450-500 is a bit steep
* Alloy wheel choice is somewhat limited though he can order from the distributer etc based on catalogue
* Alloy wheel prices are not the cheapest though the tyre prices matched what I could get from the stores on J.C. road...

got my Yokohama A drives about 6 months ago. Overall a good customer service and decently priced. I visited on a week day evening and my whole job was finished in 15 min.

Totally agree. Got my spark wheel balancing and alignment done from him. While the alignment charges was the same as others, i found balancing to be a bit costly.

Yeah, I know. But on the other hand, I don't have to drive 20km to J.C. road and spend 120 bucks on petrol !
More importantly, I know their balancing equipment is new and it works.
My Lancer A.S.S. balanced my wheels after some repairs, and I was getting steering wheel judder/vibration from 80kmph. I complained and demonstrated it, and the senior expert got the front wheels balanced again. The judder situation improved and was only appearing above 100-110kmph. Got the same balanced by Sai I., and my steering vibrations went away - I had checked upto ~150kmph.

The Lalbagh road one is more like any of the other tyre shops in J.C. road, looks like a tyre shop ;-) I would recommend the Indiranagar outlet over it!

Had called this guy for 165/60r13 potenza G3s in the last week.He said there is no supply for this size and it would be extremely difficult to source these. Then he said he would call me back and said he get these @3300 /tire!!

I immediately called up the nearest Bridgestone dealer and found that these tires are readily available .I got these for 2850 /tire.

Otherwise ,a nice guy .Have bought a couple of tires from him in the past and have been more than satisfied with the experience.

Changed my OEM Good Year NCT5 tyres with Michelin Primay LC 205/65 R15 tyres today. Excellent experience with Ashwin. Professional approach and straight forward dealing. The boys there were also pretty good with the whole affair getting over in less than half hour. Got a basic Samsung mobile phone (Guru ?) free with the tyres. Overall good experience and highly recommended.

Same here! I changed my car's tyres after 55K and Sai Iyengar was perfect. Changed within one hour including wheel alignment. Highly recommended.

Been to this place to get balancing and alignment done for my car. While the rate for the alignment is fixed at some Rs250, the rate for balancing usually depends on how much weight is added. After everything is done, he charges me Rs400 for balancing and i get a bill of Rs650 in total.

When i ask him why the balancing costed so much, and that how much weight was added to each wheel, he refuses to give me a proper answer. Me thinks he randomly charged whatever he wanted for balancing.
