The Pierce is awesome, never seen it before in the Museum or on the streets ! Just goes to show there is so much hidden from view like the two Duesenbergs in Dubai !

You can make it to the upcoming events on 2nd December UAE National Day @ Abu Dhabi Corniche and the other big one on the Emaar Boulevard, Dubai next to Bur Khalifa on the eve of the new year...Indeed there appears much more than we know...may be not public yet...someone should coordinate with the Sharjah Museum & chronicle all cars. In Australia Jan 26th is called "Australia Day" and every year on this day a classic & Vintage car display show takes place in the heart of Sydney. 100's of people come to watch these cars which are exhibited on the streets by their proud owners. One such show was attended by me in 2007. Thought of sharing few pictures of this event. Hope you all enjoy.

Few weeks back there was a classic and vintage car rally held at our local Portland community center. I was there for a different reason and had very little time on hand to view all the cars on display. In fact I did not know that such thing was going on at the center.

Since my faithful D3000 was with me, I just went shutter happy looking at all the chrome and shine on these beauties. There were hot rods, classics and classics of all kinds with the owners ready to answer questions.

I have zero knowledge about vintage cars. The easy ones like Mustangs, corvettes and Bugs were recognizable, but I had no clue about others, perhaps experts here might know them better.

Here are two interesting bikes I came across during my recent visit.

Here is a Norton seen in Brugge, Belgium. The owner was touring on this vintage bike


I saw in Paris, is a very interesting Russian bike URAL, which specializes in making heavy sidecar motorcycles originally based on BMW R71 and first bike was produced in 1941. Though this is not a classic, looks one.

Interestingly, this is a 2W Drive bike. The pictures show you the shaft drive from the rear wheel of the bike to the sidecar wheel. I understand the 2W Drive handles difficult terrains very well.

Got to see my first Amphicar. This was on a boat on the river Seine, Paris. There are a few boats where people still live in. There are even pigeon hole post boxes on the banks for them to receive their mail

The Peugeot Marque Showroom "Peugeot Avenue" is also on Champ Elysees. Here on display two cars, a beautiful 403 convertible and a modified car. They have on display the Peugeot logos over the years and they also sell merchandise. Here are some of the pictures from the showroom.

Second row, second from left - green truck reminds me of a Tata MB truck that was manufactured in limited number. It was larger, higher and had a longer hood. Which obviously , meant that it had a bigger engine. The headlights were mounted on the flat surface part of the bumper ( like the green truck in reference). It seems it was made for heavier loads and because of its immense size, did not appeal to private carrier operators. Any recollections from members as to what happened to that model ?
