Hi Raj_RD. I paid for checking my VIN on the site previously mentioned in this thread for my KIA car. It's a Hyundai site. After paying I realized that they don't serve KIA details. I checked for your VIN it came up, so I am posting a screen shot of the search page.

Current Hyundai India VIN numbers are 17digits - a request to admins to update Page - 7.

I could not find any official explanation of all 17 digits. Currently, we can only find year of manufactures from VIN (Character 10).
For manufacturing month one needs to decode 6 digit serial number, I don't think one can do that without access to Hyundai's records.

Can anyone help decode this Hyundai VIN for me?

As per this website, the 9th and 10th characters represent the month and year of manufacturing.

From your VIN, 'K6' translates to Oct 2023.

I got this VIN for my Creta FL S(O) IVT. It is 17 char long. I could decode the year of manufacturing from the 10th char. It came out to be 2024. But couldn't decode the month of manufacturing.

Is there any site which will do it for free or if someone from the group can help me know it?

Any help is very much appreciated :)

If I remember correctly, it's the 10th and 12th letters from the VIN for Mahindra cars. So in your case, it's R and C i.e. 2024 & March.
If in doubt, you can cross - check with the showroom personnel too. They would know the manufacturing period of the car.

You're correct about the manufacturing year.
For Hyundai cars, you'll need a 19 - character VIN. The 19th character will indicate the manufacturing month. You can check with the showroom staff and they should be able to provide this information.
I'm not sure about the location of the VIN in the latest models, but in older cars, it was typically stamped under the driver's seat.

You are correct. The entire 19 char VIN is stamped under the driver's seat in the facelift version also. I checked it when I did the PDI and the manufacturing month is March.

Hi,

Can anyone please help decode the vin number? Again, I could manage to get only 17 characters?

Is it Kia Seltos? It's 2024 vehicle but you would need 19 character VIN to understand month.
