Please let someone hint me how to decode the above VIN.

Hi Phani,
The succeeding 2 characters - 9H are clearly the month of mfg (sep (9) and 2017(H)) but can you please help me where did you find these two characters. The VIN on my car ends at the 17th character.
I am not able to find the vin decoder for Jeep India cars and the decoders for Jeep return incorrect values

Thanks

Hi Priyankar,
That helps.
Dealer shared the above VIN ,I will get more information from my friend
Thanks

I'm in the process of finalizing an EcoSport EcoBoost and the sales rep gave me the following VIN : MAJAXXMRKAHG07491 . According to him the vehicle is Oct'17 mfd. But Ford Etis is showing Aug'17 :

I know EcoBoosts could not have been manufactured in Oct'17 given that the facelift was about to be launched. Does this look like a genuine misunderstanding from his side ?

I'd trust Ford ETIS, and would trust what you've found on it (as well as your logic about no mfg in Oct).

I don't recall any case where ETIS was ever wrong (in fact, when one of our members discovered the missing anti-roll bars in the petrol Figos/Aspires, ETIS had the right info, and Ford's brochures and customer service were all wrong).

Having said that, I would not worry about a 3-month old car vs a 1-month old car. It is quite possible that the car was built in August, but was invoiced to the dealer only later, given the modest & stable demand for EcoSports at present.

Thanks arunphilip for your response. That's interesting and I'm not doubting for a second what is there on ETIS! Rather trying to understand what could be the motivation behind the sales rep quoting the mfg. date as Oct'17.

Like you said, it could be a genuine case of lag between mfg. and Invoicing dates, in which case it won't matter. I will be visiting the dealer yard tomorrow to personally check out the vehicle.

And I must say, your thread on your EcoBoost did convince me about my choice :thumbs up

mahen_narang,
L - November, H - 2017. I have told by the SA the last two digits represent the Month/Year.

I did visit the Dealer Yard on Friday and had a good long look at the vehicle. Everything ties in nicely with the Aug. manufacturing date. I could not find the manufacturing dates on 3 of the 5 tyres though. The spare wheel and the Front Right were showing 3017. Which means around mid July which is absolutely fine for a car manufactured in the beginning of August.

:OT There was some amount of surface rust present on the turbo-charger which the yard technician claimed was due to it being a cast-iron part and should go away soon with usage.

The engine noise with the hood open was a little on the higher side for a petrol. I have a video recording of the same.
