Sound System in my Honda City

Here are a few pics of the music system I have installed in my Honda City.

I do not want to dwell too much on the brands and models installed, though its obvious that the head unit is JVC 926. There's a 6.5" component speaker in the front, a pair of 6.5" coaxes in the rear parcel tray. Each of these sets of speakers are driven by 2-channel amplifiers. And there's a mono powering a 12.

Nice job with the tweeters and all the equipment in the boot. Did you cut out the shape for the DRLs ? I have the same in my car, but i put it in the fog lamp area.

I bought the car exactly the way it is, minus the music system and the mirror ball . Yes, the previous owner has cut the bumper to accommodate the DRLs.

Thanks. Sorry, I don't have any W-I-P pics. The sub is good, the system sounds fun. And yes - front doors, trunk and parcel shelf is damped thoroughly.

Re: Sound System in my Honda City

Please tell me you have some disco lights in place too!! What fun would it be to see light being reflected of the mirror ball!! Or probably the musical fireworks from the system are meant to do the job!!

On a serious note; please help me understand this -

In some international installs I have seen that the floors and roof et al are damped. I haven't seen this practice being followed much in India (even on this forum I don't remember many people to have adopted this route - Bhagwaan is an exception I guess). Is it because of the fact that for non-audiophile equipment the difference will be negligible or is it simply budgetry constraints??

Re: Sound System in my Honda City

In the first few pics there seems to be 3 gauges/meters in the RHS A pillar which is not there in the later snaps. Did you remove them for the tweeters ?

Yessir, the mirror ball has a built-in blue LED that I can switch on, and have light scatter all over the car!

There are many installs where we have stripped down the entire car and damped every accessible square inch of the interiors. Some guys want to go the whole hog, and give us - the installers - the liberty to do whatever it takes to make sure there is no stone unturned in creating as good an environment as possible for the stereo. This not only costs handsome money, but consumes a lot of time as well ( = car parked at workshop longer).

Yes, there were 3 meters which we've removed.

Re: Sound System in my Honda City

Great and neat installation as always.

Love the disco ball, must be a rolling disco when on the move in the night.

Is it a vtech by any chance.

Aha, the doctor's medicine for himself . The install looks neat & tidy, as most of your installs are. How come only one woofer?

I see you got yourself a Parsi-owned car that appears to be very well maintained. What happened to the Octavia? Comments on the petrol AT?

Congrats on the car & the ICE.

@ invincible7 : Can't be a Vtec. Notice the gear lever.

Re: Sound System in my Honda City

for a person credited with some of Mumbai's best installs, low profile pics of your boom-boom don't do justice.

Is this a 2002 make AT?

Congrats on the new acquisition.

No Vtec came in that colour and if my memory serves me right (an old and faded one at that), this colour came only in 2003, not even in 2002. Of course the mirror ball is actually the highlight in this install, not the speakers or the amp. Trust B & T to come up with something like this.

Thank you. No, it's not a vtec. For the kind of music I listen to most of the times, the mirror ball was a must have!

Err, its a CNG car. This is the most equipment I could get into the trunk without hindering access to the spare wheel, and retaining as much luggage space as possible.

Yes, its in very good condition. I sold the old manual Honda and the automatic Octavia cos I was eyeing this baby and another Superb. The Superb deal however didn't go through, so this is my only ride for the moment. After the auto Octy I just wasn't able to drive the manual Honda, so decided to get something automatic. And with CNG, running this car is cheaper than walking.

Thanks. The pics are reasonably high-res, what problem are you facing? You have to excuse the fact that I'm a very poor lensman though.
