HU-13k
Front-12k
Rear-5k
Sub-9k
Amp-15k
Wiring-5k
So 60k it is.

I shall be getting the car majorly damped very soon.
Planning to do the floor, roof, all 4 doors and the boot.
The rear 6x9's,HU to be upgraded sometime next year and a Mono Amp to be added too.

One never gets satisfied with what he gets.

My 1.5exi is driven by the chauffeur only.
Waiting for July next year eagerly so that I can get my hands on the car.

re: City s(q) Pioneer | Rainbow | Gladen | JBL | Digital Designs

So,i never got satisfied with what I had.

Upgrading the rear 6x9's to Rainbow DX69 and adding a Digital Designs CM600 mono amp to power the sub.
Will be getting a Dynamat/Dampmat damping done on all the four doors, boot and tray too.

That's lovely ! brilliant equipment but isnt the amp way too powerful for the woofer ? hows the effect ? I am sure DX69 are matching the front sound stage completely. Why did you not for the DDC4C in the first place ?

Thanks.

Well the amp is pretty powerful and if tuned correctly it works perfectly with the Gladen Sub.Yup the sound has become a treat to the ears after the rear speakers have been upgraded to the DX69.Its totally improved the sound.
Just that,I have a little soft corner for JBL's and gurus say Rainbows sound brilliant when powered by a JBL 1004.

Pictures and more details coming up in the next post.

Rear Coaxials

So the old Pioneers had lost that punch and it was time to upgrade them. They had served me brilliantly for 5+ years, truly VFM.
Installed the Rainbow Dreamline X69 and powered it from the JBL 1004.
Now the JBL 1004 was powering the front and rear stage Rainbows.

The change is clarity from the previous equipment is amazing.

Mono Amp

Now since,I had upgraded the rear coaxials to the Rainbows,I had to power them by an amplifier. So decided to use the 2 channels used for the sub to be now used to power the rear stage.
So now,I had to purchase another amplifier to run the subwoofer. It made most sense going in for a mono now.
I had a budget of around 15k for the amp.

Rockford Fosgate,Prime R500-1 is a mono which many of my friends have on their cars to power their subs. Most of them are running Dual RF Prime subs in an sealed enclosure.

Digital Designs,CM600 was one really powerful mono with excellent reviews that no-one had yet installed in Kolkata.Gunbir and Nitin both suggested this strongly and had high reviews of it.

Finally bought the Digital Designs CM600.

Very interesting, CityVic!I now know of exciting possibilities to one's car audio!
I am not sure I understood the whole thread nor have I heard some of the brand names you mentioned but still it made interesting reading.
Reminded me of my younger days when I built an amp+speakers system to hook up to my Sony Walkman (was a craze those days). Nothing like a DIY sometimes!
Only one question from me - doesn't the whole thing restrict boot space?

Haha, thanks. It sure is one addicting craze.
Do check out older installs in this section, you shall see a lot of installs having Rainbow equipment.

Yes,the sub does restrict the boot space by 1/3rd.But it does not matter to me,the maximum luggage in my car is just one or two bag packs.
For airport runs, market runs, the Innova is mostly used.

Pretty late in the day, I must say. In my case, some songs - Hotel California and Santana's Foo Foo (Supernatural) come to mind - made the parcel shelf rattle so much, that within a week I went back to get the thing damped! Does improve the sound in a sedan.

What brand of damping material is this?

Its a VFM Chinese Damping which a friend imports.
Its half the cost of a box of Dynamat and does the job pretty well.

Next up is damping the boot and front doors.
