RE subs are used a lot on SPL setups, and even if you fit 2 IDMax subs in a swift it can become SPL setup tho it is supposed to SQL, you will have to really detune the amps, but at times that gives some killer quality too.

If I had the room I'd get get a 18" RE, a big monobock and a lot of damping!

LBM I used to have 2 18" woofers in my home stereo. Trust me the Slam these woofers put out would part your hair. For the record they were JBL 2245 in B460 bass bins mated to a pair of Carver amps.

I have a big two channel capable of making 2400 watts rms in bridge mode....I think that will do a fine job.....about the damping it can be easily taken care as I have been left with lots of damping sheets with me....for the SUB RE where can i get it.....it is only available in america, africa and europe..not a single one in asia......so I have left the dream of RE far behind....

So navin ji you were a SPL guy before two 18 inch would be damm loud......

Not really. It is just that I had a lot of UREI and JBL Pro (2405, 2235, 2226 etc) stuff in my life. Even Sam does not know about all the JBL stuff I have played with. In fact giiven that Sam travels so damn much and I spend all my free time with my son (before he outgrows me) we never meet.

A good 18" woofer allows you to have a really low Fs (if you can accomodate the large box) and in a well built bass reflex or TL box it can provide you quality bass so you can feel the resonance of a kettle drum and the slam of a kick drum.

BTW I always dreamt of mating my JBLs to a Horn but prospective degins were too large (larger than my Fridge) and the theoretical SPLs were scary. Instead I donated them to a friend after i got married.

Also have you heard the 21" woofer that Autopsyche installed in the Red Skoda? I have not and always wondered.
