There is lot of good reviews in Amazon.com for HP. Seems compact and good. Amazon US site
I have used my old Andriod phone with Dash cam apps, works mostly flawless. |
The amazon reviews are a mix of f500, f520 and f800. Hardly a handful of reviews for the f520.

Do these cams have loop recording feature (like where if space is over, its starts writing over the older footage from the start)? |

The DrivePro 220 does that. |
This is the 3rd Dashcam that I have installed since 2011 right from the Cheap brand from China to a more reliable and clear Transcend 200 now.
All of these have had loop recording feature by default. I guess that is something very essential when it comes to Dashcams and hence one need not really look for such a feature as it will be present anyway. I can't recall which camera doesn't have a loop recording feature.

It's not a dashcam if it doesn't support loop recording and auto-start/stop. :)
Every dashcam (however cheap it might be) has these 2 'basic' features.
Extra 12V Sockets Not Possible in Swift 2007 Model ?
A bit OT.
Yesterday, I have been to MASS to get a couple of 12V sockets installed with separate wiring and fuses.
SA at MASS politely refused saying it is not possible.
Can anyone confirm it please ?
The only accessories I have in my car is the music system and 4 speakers.
I was planning for TWO 12V sockets : One in the glove box and another in the dicky. Both will be dedicated to Novatek GT 300 : One on front windscreen and rear windshield.
Any guidance will be highly appreciated.
PS : Any pointers to purchase necessary fuses and fuse taps will help a lot. Comfortable with ALIEXPRESS till date.

You can add the sockets and draw power from empty fuses in the Fuse box located below the dashboard near the accelerator.
IMO for the dashcam that you are planning, why not use power directly from the Fuse box through fuse tap cables and ones that work ONLY when ignition is ON?!
You can check my thread on DIY thread on MINI 0806 dashcam installation for all details.

As long as there are free fuse sockets in the fuse box, it is ALWAYS possible to add additional 12v sockets.

I have added 2 more apart from the stock socket. You can refer to the detailed thread
here.
The radar ones are generally targeted towards the Russian market. It's as common as traffic stops there.
Dashcams are best when discreet. Small (reasonably), no bright colors and no bling. Also, when you adjust the view, see if you can get both the bonnet corners in. May not be possible in all vehicles. Avoid having a lot of sky in the view, it's useless. :)

My SJCAM M10 usb port became loose; suspecting a loose soldering. Official service center Dashcamera currently accepts only those sold through official sjcam site.
Any suggestions on getting this repaired in Bangalore.

Any local mobile repair / service center will do it - I'm referring to the neighborhood mobile shack guy who does servicing & accessories, and NOT the authorized service centers for branded mobiles.
My G1WH dashcam's mini usb port was ripped off due to a weak solder to begin with - I got it fixed and soldered tightly from my local mobile repair guy and paid 50Rs for the fix.
I am looking for a dashcam - maybe with rear cam combination for my tuv.
The tanks size is giving me a tough time in city limits - specially in punes traffic.
Open to gearbest, aliexpress and amazon purchases.

Video quality from a dual channel system will vary a lot with what you're willing to spend.
Best to mount two dash cams, once front and one back.
What's your total budget for both front and back?

10k for front cam.
for rear, can opt for cheaper one as its mostly for parking in office which has tight space.
The local dealer was saying 3k for chinese cam.
Also, going through this thread, found SJCAM SJ4000 action cam. The video looked good and its multiple uses is tempting.
