Hey I just realised a 800 is a nice car to use for a 3 way component speaker system. Stuff the 6" midbass in the door add a 3.5-4" midrange and tweeter in the dash. You'd need a lot of dynamat too. I hear that 800 panels ring like tin drums.

yes Panky, but how do i fix the speakers to the dash? (okay i am the cheapskate DIY types- so i would do it myself !) i didnt find any "factory" holes for the screws! so i assume it would mean i have to drill holes _through_ the dashboard which would be visible in front of the dashboard . I wanted to know if i can do it without any cutting/drilling.

take ur car to a local car accessory wala, he'll charge u 10 bucks to install and dont worry, no cutting-phutting. dont attempt DIY when there are better options available to u.

else, u can ask that chap (car wala), he'll tell u how to do it physically....which wd be much better rather than discussing here.

must say 10 bucks goes a long way in Delhi. In Mumbai even beggars (at Kemps corner) will return your money if it less than a 5 rs. coin (It happened to me!). I then actually tried rationalising with them in Hindi (I can see Sam laughing-rolling on the floor now).

i went to the friendly neighbourhood car accesory walla in town..and asked him how would he go about it - he said he'd drill holes! hmm but i'm sure there's a way without it. Also i saw the accessories guy doing lots of cutting/drilling on new cars he was installing on! so i guess i want to stay away from him! and plus DIY is more satisfying than paying someone to do it (as long as it's done right!).

It is difficult to accomodate 6.5" in the 800 door, there is no mounting depth available in the 800 door and the door panel is nearly 5mm thick straight sheet it will not be able to take the vibration even it is damped.

Panky, I have to get my wife to read the hindi stuff for me.

but I was just comparing the prices in Delhi and Mumbai. I just found out that my colleague's chauffer is Calcutta is quite happy with half the pay I offer in Mumbai. Is Mumbai that much more expensive than the other Metros?

In Mumbai 10 bucks wont buy you much. 30-50,000 bucks will get you 1 sq. ft. in a building that leaks every monosson. :-( why do people pay these prices.

Mumbai is the Money City- With everyone out there to make it Big..It is one of the most expensive cities in India..!
But then I suppose the renumaration is also in the similar scale..! Salaries might be higher compared with Delhi-Bangalore...!
