components start at 6K for the JBL and Blau THc and go up from there. What is a resonable price?

if you find your pushing your Hu past the half way amp get an amp. a resonable amp would cost you 6-7K (Blau GT4 or Pio 6200).

I recently bought a Swift Vxi, (second hand - 8 months old, as the new ones waiting period is more than 3 months, I hate waiting). The earlier owner had the following ICE set up in the car

HU : Pioneer deh p5850mph
Rear : 6 x 9 TSA 6961 E (Mounted on a planket)
Front : Some pioneer speaker (not able to open and see inside) and a Pioneer dome tweeter in the dash.

I would like to upgrade it, as I dont like the sound produced by this setup.
I have one new Pioneer DEH-P4900IB + Pioneer iPod Direct Cable (CDI200), bought from US through a friend. (I bought it to make make use of my ipod in the car).

Please advice me on upgrade of the above and my budget as of now is 10 to 15k.

Get a Pio 4 channel for app 6-7K; front comps (JBL - 607): 5K (app); rear JBL 937 :3K (app). You can easily get the above from any one place and get them installed for FREE.

Can use the same amp, if I want to add a sub?

:agree: Yes, that is the easiest (economic too) way to upgrade your setup.

You can connect a Sub to a 4 channel amp. And also utilise the other 2 channels for the front compos.
If you are adding a Sub, then I would recommend you to go for 6" round coaxials for rear and it will go in easily into their stock location in doors. Ovals are not needed if you are adding a sub.

Entirely unrelated. I've noticed that quite a lot of condensation can form around the central air outlets after turning off the AC and opening the windows for a warm up. Any problem to the HU?

It is normally recommended to get coaxial speakers which has similar specs with the compos you buy for the front.
So, it is better to get a pair of coaxial speakers which is in the same series as the compos.

For example, if you buy JBL GTO series of compos, then GTO series of coaxials would be the best for rear. Or if You're getting Hertz Dieci series of compos, then Dieci series of coaxials would be the best to go with it.

For the given budget, getting a sub and amp seems a bit tight. It is possible, not sure if those products will do enough justice to rest of the equipment.
I would recommend you to either get the speakers now and keep the rest for later or increase your budget now!
Oh! I forgot to say, the latter option sounds sour but that is very much what many end up doing here. Yours truly included. ;)

What type of music you listen to and like Navin Ji said how much loud do you go and what type of sound do you like bright or laid back.

i listen to rock music, trance, basically a mix of all, what im looking for is clarity and not more of the bhoom effect that a sub woofer will create, may b a little boom but not as much as the sub woofer...

Also wanted to know can the components and rear speakers (pio 691r) be directly attached to my HU (pio. P1Y {60X4}) and will it give a good effect or is a 4 channel amp necessary.

alternatively can i attach either my rear or component to a 2 channel amp and the remaining speaker to the HU directly?? will that give me a good sound?? also have heard that a 2 channel amp does not generate the frequency that an component needs?? is that true???

guys would really help if you could give me brand names of component their cost as well as amp's brand name and cost so that i can decide which 1 to go with....

agree: Yes you are true, I am already in that list. I have increased the budget to some extent, like say 20k.

In cities where the humidity stays high for long periods, this is to be expected - the water vapour in the air condenses on the cold parts. But then, you must be letting the AC go *really* low - and then opening the windows to warm up the interiors. Instead, perhaps you could experiment with the temperature setting (the one with the blue and red gradually narrowing down strips) so that you get a comfortable cabin and don't need to open the windows to warm up the insides.

The HU may not be under threat, since the temperature inside the HU when it is working would be more than 30 degC - far above the dew point.

Search around for a good economical 4-channel amp, say Blau or Pio, you might manage to get what you want in 20K +/-.

If the rear ovals (on the parcel shelf plank) are sounding good, you need not put speakers in the rear doors, but instead leave them connected to the HU. Drive the front compos (plenty of VFM ones available: Blau THc, JBL GTO, etc.) with 2 channels of the amp, use the other 2 channels to drive the sub in bridged mode.

Don't ignore the need for good wiring and installation - they can make or mar a good system.
