1. Night Train, Paradise City, Locomotive - GNR (first 2 from 'Apetite for Destruction' & third from UYI2)
2. Lady Writer - Dire Straits (of course there are many more, but this is less talked about)
3. Coming Back to Life - Floyd (live version from 'Pulse' is nice, like this more for imagery than speed or complexity)
4. All Along the Watchtower - Hendrix (ditto about imagery, also check out the version with Dylan & Grateful Dead, this song is one of my faves)
5. Jump, Right Now - Van Halen (Jump has a cool keyboard solo too, Right Now has a even cooler music video)
6. Alive - Pearl Jam (thats my nod to the alternative genre)
7. Scar Tissue - RHCP (Mr. Frusciante leads this one with some neat slide work)
8. Whiplash, Fade to Black - Metallica (especially like the 2nd one)
9. Hangar 18 (yeah), Ashes in Your Mouth - Megadeth
10. Delivering the Goods - Judas priest

Of course there are many many more bands with skilled axemen that I either cant recall at present or have not listened to, so feel free to append to this list...

Damn, how did I forget 'Time'? the intro with all the alarm clocks is really good 'show-off' stuff on home audio, have yet to try it on ICE :) . Show-off apart, it's a good song too.

these songs especially the A.r.rahman ones have e exeptional good mix of Bass and High tones.

Picked up 'The Collection' this evening - pretty much reaffirms my belief that all the action was happening in the 70's...

Twin guitars: searing riffs, beautifully intertwined and some of the best solos I've heard in a long time, sounds years ahead of its time :Shockked: , truly 'progressive' rock. Some jazz influences, even a 'bluesy' track too...

Enjoying this so much right now on el cheapo Creative comp speakers hooked to my laptop, can't wait to hear it in the car :)

Drums are quick and snappy, basslines well defined, melodic vocals - all in all, great for fast, light and dynamic speaker/sub combos

I have the DVD, there is couple of pieces played by a fellas ( forgot their names), one on rhythm guitar and another on a bass guitar, those solos-rhythm solo then without stopping it get entwined with the bass guitar- it never fails to make my hair on my spine stand up.
