Experts, your help is much appreciated. |
Hi,
Could you please check from where you have sourced CANBUS connection. I had to source CANBUS signal from climate control since RCD 220 does not have connection to CANBUS by default.
I have posted details here

Regards.
Can anybody help me update the firmware on this device. I am running on stock and the initial firmware. I reached out to the seller and he sent me this link
https://mega.nz/#F!roxDzJ4R!kRhdEZmiN40ccnspruzzeg
I downloaded the files and when I go to the system updates it does not show up any updates.
Not sure if I am missing something here. Please help.
Also did anybody found solution to the echo(person speaking at other end hears his own voice) during Bluetooth calls?

Please copy both files in GPS card and try.
I'm looking to upgrade the stock Bolero HU on my 2012 Laura L&K with an Android unit. Came across several options on Aliexpress and they all claim to be great! Shortlisted these by number of orders and feedback and also picked Android 6 units only (there were several 5.x units):
This one seemed to have the best ratings with most sales:

Another one:

This one looked closest to stock and was my pick, look-wise:

All of these have CANBUS support and claims to work with the steering wheel controls and Maxidot display. Wasn't very clear if these will support the OPS (front and back) of the L&K out of the box. I don't care for a parking camera, but I definitely want to retain the OPS functionality. Will these support it?
Any suggestions on what I should look for while choosing from these (and the various others on Aliexpress)? And will they be tough to fit? Most claim to be plug and play. Any idea about the power connector of a Skoda Bolero HU and would these units have compatible ones?
Thanks!
Hello
Could not find a similar post so posting a new one.
I have a Hyundai i10 Sports 2013 model (with a CD player). I wish to upgrade to a Touchscreen AVN with Apple Car Play / Android Auto (bluetooth, Wynk, Google Maps etc included). I doubt the Grand i10 or any other unit would fit the space in the dashboard.
Does anyone here know of compatible after market units (Pioneer / JBL / Sony) which can solve the purpose?
Current ICE setup - 12" JBL Subwoofer, Pioneer Tweeters x 2, 2 Ch AMP, Stock speakers.
Thanks in advance !

i10 supports normal 2-DIN players.
I would suggest you to opt for Sony 2-DIN HUs. Pretty slick interface compared to Pioneer.

Sony xav-ax100 is the cheapest and reliable option. For more price, there are many good HUs with Android auto by Pioneer.
@graaja, thanks to your very detailed post on the DIY, I managed to install an Android 7.1 HU in my 2017 Rapid.
It works as expected except for the steering volume control. My Rapid has a rotary knob on the steering wheel for volume control and the HU doesn't seem to recognize that. The other buttons for changing tracks and answering calls work though.
I looked up at the factory settings of the HU. There seems to be no setting to select the steering version. Any pointers to get it working will be of great help!
I do have MTCD based android unit installed in my rapid and volume control is working fine. For me, it was just plug and play with the provided canbus adapter. But I remember seeing a factory setting(accessing needs password 126) where there is options for selecting different steering wheel controls.

I looked up at the factory settings menu again. But I am unable to find any setting for the steering wheel controls. I have contacted the seller on AliExpress but I'm yet to hear from him. Will a different CAN decoder be required for Skodas with rotary volume control on the steering?
Image showing my factory settings:
^i meant the canbus mode settings... Try different options under canbus (01 VW & SKODA..)

Hi smnrock! Thanks for replying :)
I have tried almost all the VW ones on the CAN bus list. Still the rotary volume control on the steering doesn't work.
Can you please tell me the CAN bus mode that you are using.

Only one change i see in my canbus settings. Not sure whether this will help. FYI my car is 2016 model, not the face lifted one.
