There're very nice installers in Bangy. Try Autofusion, EBbass Sprocket etc.. They will sell you authorised Alpine HU with B&W. They're good in doing neat installs too.
And what're you planning for speakers?

Guess, will have to see ,what else is available in market..

btw anyone knows authorized Alpine dealers in Blr?

Installing a Single din player into a Double din slot.

My old car has a factory fitted kenwood Double din unit, everything is great about it except that it does not have a USB slot and can only play CD’s.

Since I don't plan to retain the car for long, don't want to shell out for a new double din player just for the USB slot. (Double din units avg cost 7k+ Single din’s available from 2.8k+)

Any suggestions on the following would be welcome (I am based out of Bangalore)

- Using a mounting slot can one install a Single din player into a double din slot ?
- Is there any aftermarket way of attaching a USB slot into a player ?

All I need is just FM and a USB port, dont need a CD slot .

Ps: Could not find any thread with the exact same requirement so created a new one.

Re: Installing a Single din player into a Double din slot.

If you want a quick fix (and not the best, long-term solution), visit JC road. Bunch of shops that will retrofit a USB slot in the existing player.

Else, if you get a new single din player, you can always fit a dummy cover in the other half.

Yes, very much possible. Have replaced factory fitted 2-DIN HU with 1-DIN JVC HU in my Innova.

Re: Installing a single-din player into a double-din slot

I have a Honda City ZX Vtec which came with a 2-Din Alpine HU from factory. Down the years, the factory fitted system was replaced by a 1-Din Pioneer HU and the empty spot was filled by a cheap quality plastic tray which makes the facia look horrible.

I know that the lower variants of my car came with a single din Alpine HU and a closed drawer to fill the empty spot. I asked Honda ASS but they don't seem to stock that part anymore. Is there a better alternative to the tray or any idea where i can find this kind of drawer ?
