Its sad ur HU got stolen...

Here are my recommendations

Pioneer DEH-P80
Pioneer DEH-P77MP
Kenwood KDC-9533
Kenwood KCD-01

If theft spree is there in your area then the above mentioned units are too expensive to loose. In that case go for decent ones not very high end but ofcourse good quality like Kenwood 5033.

Not in order of course

Jvc

Recently upgraded to a JVC KD DV6101 DVD player and am pretty happy with it... Moreover the option of having 1000 songs on one DVD seemed a good proposition when I made the purchase.. It cost me 10.5k

yep, sk456, i fail to understand how thieves can break into your car when you have all kinds of security gadgets available these days. i feel sorry for the loss of your music man. i know how hard & long it takes to collect music. hope you had ripped them in your computer.

i would suggest a DVD player too, perhaps a pio or a sony. cheers

Sorry for your loss sk...i've been thru this and I know what it feels like. Its one thing to lose MP3 CDs...but losing a case logic full of originals is tragic !! I hope the cops catch them and you recover your CDs...good luck !!

That's really shockking!! Sorry to hear that dude!! Lose the HU, CDs are very bad to be stolen!!
Put an ad in the newspaper announcing a reward for getting the CDs back!!

Get a Pioneer P80RS or a Pioneer 6850.

P80RS will be around 20k if bought in grey. Around 17k if bought from Middle east. Dunno about Singapore & far east.

Pioneer 6850 is a main stream unit with some bling and decent sound. It's available for 9k in grey. With B&W, it would be 17k!!

Within 10k - if you want B&W also, There is a Panasonic HU with some nice features and 3 pre outs. Model is 5301.

Sad that u lost ur HU.
1.I do remove the HU's face plate before i go for sleep and keep it around 2feet away from my head, literally.I dont think any latest security system can prevent thefts as these thieves seem to be very 'skilled' what they do and always r one step ahead of security systems.

2.sk,probably E_L meant that u may have copied [ripped/encoded] ur whole music collection to ur computer's HDD which doesn't seem the case.

so my above 2 para remind of what we daily repeat many a times---"prevention is better than cure"
