Upgrade for Honda CR-V

Looking to upgrade the sound on my new Honda CR-V. Couple of considerations:

1. Want to use stock locations, i.e. not make any changes to any body panels etc.
2. Vehicle comes with 4 speakers on each door and 2 tweeters on the dashboard.
3. Modest budget

Would appreciate any specific advice. Thanks

Hello Mojo (I made that sound like Hello Moto)

I have first hand experience on the new CR-V.

What model do you have, there are 2 types of HU's supplied on the CR-V, one is the Alpine built for the Civic and the other is a high quality, old fashioned looking Panasonic.
You can tell by getting the HU out and looking for Matsu****a hahaha M-A-T-S-U-S-H-I-T-A on the body.

Before we go further, I'd like to know, what kind of money are you willing to spend? 10K? 50K? 100K?

Sam does the latest gen CRV differ much from the previous model? (In terms of stock locations, pod sizes etc?)

My dads gen II CRV has the Alpine.

Cr-v

All i can tell is that the car has 4 identical speakers on the doors and 2 tweeters on the dashboard. The vehicle is CBU imported so dealer has no idea what is installed. The head unit also has no brand mentioned, though looks different in appearance from the civic's.

Budget is max 20k, though not looking for big sound. Listen generally to old rock and jazz.

To esteem lover... Jim Morrison is one of my favorites to listen to in the car. If this help your recommendations in any way!

20K. 2 choices. leave HU alone.

a) Get amp (7K) and boxed 12" sub (8K) some nice RCA wire for amp (1K) and damp the doors (4K).

b) Get amp and newer front components (6K), RCA ware and damping as above.

Hey nifty config Navin sir! But what can the CRV accomodate upfront?
(If someone can post the 2nd gen as well as current model specs it would help)

I friend called it a Chick-Recreational-Vechile. At first I agreed but after I saw the Skoda advert I figured I stood a better chance of making out in the back of an Octavia. BTW we are seriously OT.

Hey, welcome to the club. I would also advice you not to change the HU. Being a Honda, the HU is probably an Alpine which is one of the best. So, initially you could add components for the front (JBL, Boston, Infinity etc) and a 4 Ch amp & if & when budget permits get a sub. Hope this helps.
cheers

And keep your eyes on the road & your hand upon the wheel

Thanks

From what I've read so far... plan to change front speakers to components and add a 4ch amp. Could someone recommend specific models and brands and most importantly an authorized retailer in Delhi who would do a professional installation job (previous bad experiences with loose body panels and rattles)

Size of opening for stock speakers on front door panel - 5.5 inches

Thanks in advance
