How is this compared to Motorola MA1? As I see reviews in Amazon.com, Motorola MA1 is showing 4.5 ratings while Carlinkkit 4.0 shows 3.5 reviews rating.

My mom will be back in India in March, so thinking to order either of this one.

Please be mindful of the fact that Motorola MA1 is compatible only with Android Auto (AA). Whereas, Carplaykit 4.0 is compatible with both AA and Carplay. If you want to have both AA and Carplay in a single device then Carplaykit 4.0 (not 3.0) is the way to go.

Yes, Motorola A1 is only for AA and not Carplay. Also, isnt available on any Indian online sites. I got mine from a friend who was coming from the UK, for our Audi A4 (Technology/2023 - has only wired AA).

It is really easy to set up (literally, in a minute) and has worked well on both our phones (S22/S23). We use it mostly for music and google maps and it has worked flawlessly - no connectivity issues, pauses or any issue whatsoever ... it works as well as with the wired connection. Really happy with this piece of kit.

Anyone tried Carlinkit 5.0 (CPC200-2air) with 10.25 inch display? Seltos / Creta. Do they work fine?

Did you find an answer for this?

The one you bought, is it only for wireless CarPlay/Android Auto? Or does it let you watch Netflix/YouTube etc videos on the screen as well.

Also, how taxing is it on your phone battery? Does it drain out fast?

It is akin to using wired CarPlay / Android Auto. So same features would be supported. Nothing more / less.

It uses both WiFi and Bluetooth. So battery drain is present and expected but not drastic.

My friend bought carlinkit 4 and it had issue of stretched display on 10.25inch display of his Creta (I posted about it before). There was no solution hence he returned. He is bit skeptical about the carlinkit 5. Could you please post a photo of your head unit screen connected to it to show how it looks?

Thanks in advance.

The one purchased is working fine with the new Seltos which has 10.25 inch. To nitpick I see a lag of about half a second between my operation and the actual action, which I dont mind. I could send the photo of the display. However, it would look exactly like wired android auto itself. Your friend could mail to the manufacturer of the device to make sure, if he wants.

Hi dipdawiz, I just received my Carlinkit 5.0 and tried it on my Tucson. It has the same 10.25 inch screen and I also tested it in my Ignis and Tiago EV. There has been no problems with the display resolution.

I've been advised after kuch digging around that the problem with the Nippon units in the thar regarding request disconnections may be because of their handling of the AA protocol. After two head unit changes, I tried carsifi - works well but disconnects just as often. Feedback is such that moving over to CP protocol may be the solution.

Trying out the carlinkit AI box basic (2GB/Quad core A53/16GB eMMC/wifi AX) this weekend. Will report back.

If anyone wants it I may be able to source it cheap (7k and below.).
Seems to be the best deal available in the country today. Source - Gurgaon.

Do provide your feedback/review after you try it out. I've been meaning to get that one instead of the regular carlinkit device.

Did you get yours from Amazon India? I am also planning to buy one for my Seltos, but see a lot of negative reviews on Amazon India for Carlinkit 5.0.

Have you tried connecting Carlinkit to the 12V socket or USB Type-C port on your Seltos? My unit (Tbox Plus) is detected only if I connect to the USB Type-A port directly and not to any other port.

12V Socket will not support CarPlay or AA in any car. In Seltos 2023, only the USB A supports CarPlay or AA.

Hi Folks,

Has anyone tried the new carlinkit 5.0 on any 8-inch Kia/Hyundai units? Does it work fine? Any issues.
Asking for the new Venue facelift that has an 8-inch unit with wired AA/Carplay (strangely) on the higher trims.

Thanks!
