Can someone tell me from where can one order this? Looks like a useful device.
Also , does this use lot of energy and whether this affects the functionality of the touch infotainment in car?
Used this in my Audi A4 18T extensively for Apple CarPlay and it worked flawlessly. Currently the device is in service in my Kushaq Active Peace and again works flawlessly. Got it for ~4500/- from their website.

And infact the connection is more stable and reliable than I have felt with factory Wireless Carplay in my X1. There is almost a 2-3 second lag between the audio sync as compared to Wired connection. |
Do you see this kind of lag with phone calls too? A 2-3 second lag with phone calls would make it almost unusable, like a long distance call from the 1970s.

- Audio Lag (persistent in other wireless solutions as well)

Did you notice any lag with phone calls in your BMW X1's factory CarPlay?

No there is no lag with calls in any of the systems. Only in Touchscreen and it reflecting on the audio change. You can notice it when changing tracks or playing a video.

Thats all well and good but then that dongle cannot do Android Auto. Btw, CarTube still works with latest Android Auto version. :) and No root Needed. |
No it does have wireless Android auto as well. I never thought people will like to connect Android auto through wireless car play dongle but yes it is relevant to say BMW owners as they do not have option of Android auto.
I have tried CarTube but stopped after some update in AA. Is it still working ?

Yes Cartube is still working fine with latest update.
CarMmb will not work for BMW as those have only wireless carplay, no wired option.
Works like a charm in my Toyota Crysta. Ordered from their website
https://carlinkitcarplay.com for direct delivery to Bangalore.
(U2W Plus) Carlinkit 3.0/ 4.0 Wireless Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto Adapter Dongle for Wired CarPlay
Though paid US$85, still much cheaper compared to the same ones available on Amazon.in. The only issue is the delivery part. They will send it from POS, Malaysia to India Register Post which almost takes 40 days for delivery :Frustrati. No need to pay any Customs Duty, as on the bill the amount mentioned is only US$8. (I gather if the item's value is less than US$ 10, the customs office will not charge any duty).
I had doubts in my mind about its compatibility with Toyota Cars in India. But now very happy that its works without any issues clap:clap:

I am seeing a price of $105 on the website for the same model as compared to the price you mentioned. Am I missing something?

Try using few discount codes. 16-R or something generally found by googling.

Any idea regarding the time take to deliver the shipment. I have ordered on 13th Nov, by what date should I expect the delivery as there is no timeline mentioned in the tracking. The tracking displays in Transit for the past 4 days now. Also will I have to pay any customs for the item? The shipment is from China.
It will take atleast 25 to 30 days for final delivery. Domestic logistics is very slow, so we need to be patient. Checking status every day doesn’t helprl:.
No need to pay any customs duty as they declare invoice value something like US$ 9.99.

I ordered on 27th October and received it yesterday 21st November without any call or message from the courier. The courier was Delhivery and it came from Delhi. It is billed at Rs 640/-. So I guess there is no customs hassles
The tracking is stuck at 11th November saying “customs documentation prepared”
So stop worrying about the order. In another 10 days it should come
I’ve given up on my CARLINKIT3/4, it doesn’t reliably work with my harrier. If anyone wants it I’m happy to part with it, Delhi/NCR folks can come try it, I’m in gurgaon.
