I followed through the steps and successfully installed it on my XUV700.
There were a couple of issues:
1. The video and audio were out of sync
2. There is no way to play it on the entire screen; G Maps takes 1/3rd of the screen space, so it is not really full screen.

With the above two issues, I did not find it worth having it on the screen, so uninstalled it. Anyways thanks for the info.

Followed the steps judiciously but it's not showing in android auto of my Vitara Brezza Zdi+.

Anyone been successful to run it on Brezza diesel with OEM head unit?

Quite honestly, the car dashes these days are equally distracting anyway. Screens everywhere, no physical buttons with drivers fiddling and trying to find the right page or UI element.

Hi. Thanks for recommending this. After a long time, I was thrilled to try something like this on my phone. I reached till this point - Tap to download 'CarStream" and there were 3 options in the dialog and I selected the one with latest version (going by the number in the end).
But I'm not able to locate the download app or file. And the '1 Free' option is expired. Is there anything I missed..

This is a good to have feature but it doesn't seem very practical unless the video can be streamed to the rear screens for passenger instead of the main front center console.

This does work on almost all android phones except for a few one plus models. It does help in the long idling hours of Bangalore traffic and works like a charm. I’ve been using it since 2020

Same here Carstream App doesn't appear. Even after clicking the brick icon, its not appearing. Is it because, I haven't logged in Carstream app? Please advise

Couple of issues that I saw and wanted to check if this is how it works.

By default, the Carstream App doesn't appear on the right side of the Android auto screen ( where-as YT music does)
So, one has to click the brick icon below, goto the list of AA apps and then select this.

What this means is that Maps appears very small when this app is running.
And if you double click Maps to make it bigger, the App goes off.

Not sure if it's specific to my phone or a generic issue.
Have shared couple of pics to show what I have written above.

Tried this out on my Thar, it seems to work well. It doesn't work on split screen mode though, which is actually good from a safety perspective. Watching YouTube while using maps would be highly distracting anyway. Cheers!

Hello, thankyou for sharing with us this information, I tried using it on my Toyota HyRyder, 1st attempt did it over wireless Android Auto, noticed a minor lag which isn't a pleasurable viewing experience, thought I'd try using wired connection but the result was the same.

Want to know if anyone else is also facing this minor lag? Or is it just the hyryder headunit issue, and if there is any solution to this.

Any idea how to get rid of the map and get it as true full screen? I'll anyway be using it only while stationary so a split screen is useless.

I tried this today. Unfortunately the app failed to appear on the android auto screen. Out of fear, deleted the app and parent app.
