the Pio 6950 not having direct USB plugin capability is a major setback to my plans... cos it does not make it any different from Front Aux-in currently supported by my sony HU...

Besides .. I checked out a new sony HU in the grey market with direct USB plugin for Rs. 5500/- only !

You need a "messy" cable if you want quality. Even if the HU has a USB port, you'd still need a cable. You can have no mess by using a cr@ppy FM adapter (if you don't care about SQ). That has been discussed elsewhere.

However, plugging your iPod directly into the HU sounds weird.

Stay away from Sony IMHO JVC is better bet if u want it at 5k budget. It has 3 band eq and 3 preouts too and is also IPOD ready (adapter needed)

Kenwood HUs sound good at large. Have used the 4033 and 5033 earlier and both had good SQ. The JVCs are also quite decent for the price.

Re: Economy USB Head-Unit.

Hi all,

I am looking for an economy USB (must) / DVD Head unit and also speakers for the BEAT which I booked. My budget would be around 7500 for HU, and I don't have any idea about speakers, which suits for the same. Please advice.
