Well there are a lot of threads realted to this..
chk out this

Anyways ...
Here's my audio setup which I had done to my Zen and later fitted into my Honda city
HU - Pioneer 5990IB - 8,000 Rs
Front - JBL GTO 507C components Around 4900 Rs
Rear - JBL GTO 937 around- 4500 Rs
all products are with bill and warranty.

To fit in the components you need to put a spacer in the door.
Rear . Put a MDF plank.

Hey nicejits, I recently had the ICE setup of my ride upgraded from the OE one. Here's what all I got fitted:

Alpine HU (CDE-9870) - Rs. 8000
Alpine SPS-690A 6x9 3 way speakers in Rear - Rs. 4500
JBL 2 way speakers (CS2104) in front - Rs. 1700

All these are with B&W and the sound is great!

If you are going for a basic audio setup with HU and 4 speakers I guess a 4 gauge wire will do. No need for high end ones like Monster and Audiopolk. Audio gurus please do correct me if I am wrong.

Hi nicejits. I think your query would be more apt in the ICE section. The thread mentioned by sushrutha above would be a good starting point.
You could perhaps request the mods to shift this thread to the ICE section, where you can get more inputs.

Spacer is a piece of round shaped wood placed between the body panel n the speakers. This is used to hold the speakers properly in position, to avoid the speakers touching the body etc.

MDF plank is also made of wood, rather a very good plywood. These are used to hold the rear speakers , jarring is pretty less with MDF plank when compared to other planks.

Amplifier... It totally depends on an individual. If you want neat , clean music go for an amp. Else good quality speakers will do the job.
I don't have amp in my setup... but planning to up.

Now pls refer to this thread. You'll get loads of info

A MDF plank is like a tray that is used to fit in the rear speakers. Spacers are speaker brackets that are used to increase the installation depth of the speakers. I think you would have a nice bass in Zen if you go for good speakers in the rear (like the ones I mentioned in my previous post). But if you are looking for the real boom factor, an amp and sub is needed.

HU: 5K will get you a Pio 3950 or 4950
Amps: 7K will get you a Pio 6200 or Blau GT 4
Speakers: 7K will get you 2 pair of coax speakers from JBL, Blaupunkt, etc.
total: 19K.

if your budget does not strech that far drop the amplifier.

If you plan to upgrade with a 4 channel amp do get a Hu with 2 pair for preamp outs.

CDE-9870 has only one pre out.

Hey there, welcome to ICE. Nice jits you got there.

10-12K? Just get a HU and 4 nice speakers.

Front 5.25" components and rear anything you like. Decent MP3 HU like Pioneer and you're done.

Did I mention that you've got nice jits?
