Sorry for going off topic guys,

Sam, I did PM you regarding my query, but didn't get any reply. I want to know the stock availability of the 500W Basstube in Hyderabad. I was informed today that, there is an issue in the shipping of JBL products since 2 months. Help!

saw that the GT5 coax's have something called 'i-mount' for the tweeters. nothing is mentioned of it in the manual, but some of the diagrams show the tweeter mounting at an angle. Does this i-mount let you aim the tweeters ?

If it does , then GT5 is a killer deal as far as I'm concerned. cheaper, less bright , and should do better in stock locations as well . Why isnt this i-mount thing on GTO's yet ?

I have not studied JBL's i-mount but angled coaxial tweeters have been around in car audio for 20+ years. There are pros and cons to using that approach and often the use of an angled mount depends on the designer or the speaker (he/she understand the speaker best).

Yeah I suppose they are already in the GTO speakers. I have the GTO components and they gave me lots of attachments for the tweeters which can be mounted in different ways. One of them was i-mount (Flush mount) were in I can rotate the tweeter to set the direction of the sound. And I guess you can rotate the tweeters in the GTO co-axials too. I have seen in this forum some where there is pic which indicates the tweeter directing upwards when the speaker is placed in stock location. And as we know the GTO technology flows into GT5 series.

Yeah, I am sure that tweeters in the GTO Coaxes can be rotated as well. Please check the attached manual. Figure 1 which indicates that GTO 527, GTO 627 etc can be rotated and point at the listener.

We may be launching some new products soon. I cannot tell you more about that yet.

I can safely tell you that there is no GT5 tube or sealed box. Do not fall for any market rumours.
There are 2 GT5 boxes. A single 12" Bass Reflex GT5-1204BR and a dual 12" Bass Reflex GT5-2204BR.
There is also a GT5 bandpass box which may be released soon GT5-1204BP.

The CS1204T tube continues with no successor at its price vs. performance.

The current Bass Reflex box is GT5-1204 BR which carries a current gen GT5-12 woofer inside.
Attachment 18058
Easily distinguishable because the woofer is black and silver.
Attachment 18059
The CS/GT4 woofer product looks like this
The JBL logo is orange on it.

I have only posted the above pictures to guide you about the differences between the 2 products.

Both the GTO75.4 and the GTO301.1 have been discontinued.
I see no problem with going for the GT5 amplifiers (if you have already decided for JBL) - you can go for the GT5-A604 for the speakers and a nice GTO monoblock for the woofer like the GTO3501.

Remember there are also other brands that can offer you good amplifiers, like Blaupunkt, Alpine and more good brands that you can find on this forum.
Sam, I searched around in vain for CS-1204B (12 inch sealed sub) last week but I have been told that it is discontinued. Is that true?

The installer was trying to push GT5-1204BR, which is not my requirement.

If CS-1204B has actually been discontinued, what model is its replacement and how is it better?

Also, the installer was quoting Rs 7500 for CS/GT5-1204B, which I thought was on the higher side. I thought they were for around ~5-6k? Please clarify!

the 1204B AFAIK is not discontinued only difficult to find.(in the grey market its even more difficult cause mostly they give you their own selaed box with a GT4 or GT5 woofer not the original JBL box)
the MRP is 7990 so 7500 with BILL seems right to me.

But I remember having read somewhere on TBHP that it goes for as low as 5.5K? And if it is not disconned, why is it so hard to source? BTW, are there any other branded sealed subs apart from 1204B and Blau 1200c?

I just saw your message.

There is a new Andhra Pradesh distributor - this will explain all your confusion.
I do not know the new distributor yet. There are no shipping issues from JBL.

That may be the price in grey probably. maybe Sam can help
Actually 7990 now does seems a bit steep when Blaupunkt is offering a similar item for 6500rs
Well other brnded boxs:apart from infinity and pioneer,DUB maybe(askZohir)
Though i advice you make your own box . Its not that difficult and you do save money!

He has that with him? Is it the amplified DUBba? If you get it for a good price, thats a half decent compact sub.
