This thread makes for great reading. Amazing how the focus of the thread was lost.

Lol! Kinda expected something of this sort to be worrying you, for otherwise you are generally the soft spoken person who tries to stay off everyone's toes.

hehe. i don't know why all this happened. every thing could be debated in a much nicer way. anyway, its never too late. i don't have any issues against anyone here and that includes lbm.its just that sometimes, these things do happen when in a debate. you have to see the parliment sessions lol. Heads of our country fighting like crazy.

baaki, im going to enjoy chhabbis janvary reinstalling my cars ice. i have to see what tweet placement suits me etc etc.

What is the current price of Alpine 9887?

The quote I got from Auto Fusion is Rs.25000. I think it is on the higher side compared to other cities.

I had a new Alpine 9887 with ipod cable for sale a few weeks back and within two hours of publishing it here in classifieds section, it was sold! The purchaser got a terrific deal at the US prices (approx Rs 15k). I would have taken it for myself if I had not installed another Alpine a few months back in my car.

Well 23k is the retail, so he cannot charge more.

That was a great deal. I hope I will get a US trip soon.

I should keep an eye on classifieds section from now on.

Alpine CDA 9887 costs around USD 300 here in Korea. HUs are procured from Alpine China. I think same are sold across south and Southeast Asia.

I’ve recently bought Alpine CDA 9886 for around USD 250 in Korea and plan to get it installed in Bangalore from Satya. I wonder why there is such a huge price difference between Indian and markets abroad.

Disincentive / opportunity price. This behavior is fuelled by lack of research on the part of the buyer. 90% of buyers walk in and take whatever is recommended, with an attempt at bargaining. The more polished a 'consultant', higher the price and the lesser the likelihood of price reduction. Try Sprocket (just 300m away), same behaviour, better polish - they talk the irrefutable logic of b&w and MRP!!!

Simple yar, more pieces sold = more profits even at lesser margins. How many 9886/9887 are sold in India (forget Bangalore)? Maybe Sam can explain the market dynamics better. That also explains the presence or lack of demo boards / audition: the classic chicken-and-egg story!

As far as i have seen..

There is a comparison b/w P80 and alpine 9887

As far as ia know P80rs and p880prs are very diff. headunits..

One is a premier Head Unit and one is simple and moreover there is a lot of diff. b/w p80rs and p880prs in sound

p80rs cannot comapre with alpine 9887

but p880prs can compare with 9887 if tuned correctly and by good hands
