Spark JBLpunkted

As the voice of a young Bhimsen Joshi filled the air, I knew I had made the right choice of ICE for my Spark...

But it was not easy finalising upon the system. I was confused lot. Blame it on TBHP.

From Illusion 4" components in the front to Blau OD series, I was not able to make up my mind. In the meantime I also flirted with the idea of doing away with amplifier and installing a good HU (Alpine 9883) instead.

I thought having finalised upon the system, I was just few hours away from taking my wife on a long drive. How wrong I was. The saga of ICE lasted over three days and almost 14 man hours. But as they say, alls well that ends well.

So here is the ICE set up in Spark:

1) HU : Blaupunkt London MP 37
2) Front Speakers : JBL GTO 937
3) Rear Speakers : JBL GTO 427
4) Amplifier : Blaupunkt GT 4 MK II
5) Wiring Kit : Tsunami
6) Voice : Absolutely great!
7) Value : Worth the smile on my wife's face!!

Friends, I cannot say how grateful I am for all your help. Without this site and your inputs I could not have, even in my wildest dreams, thought of having such a system in my car.

Kiran (Moral Fibre), Ajay (Bass and Trouble), Radek, Low Bass Maker, Gunbir, Hydrashok, Iraghava, Nimz, Sam, Navin, and ALL Team BHPians - a very big thank you.

Needless to say, in case any of you wish to audition the set up before finalising it in your car, you are all most welcome. Afterall, it's a TBHP tradition to help fellow members and I absolutely intend to carry it forward!

  3. Let's have some prices as well!
Thanks, and congratulations!!!

CaAt, hearty congratulations on your wonderful setup!

I think you've swapped front and rear speakers in your post.

Your post was fun to read. However, we BHPians always look for pictures supporting great posts like that.

So, pictures please!

I think he means JBL speakers + Blaupunkt HU & amp = JBLpunkted.

p.s. You can't patent a word

Hi all again,

Thanks for your good words.

And yes, it was mistake on my part. I swapped front and rear speakers in the opening post.

Here's the price for your benefit:

HU London MP 37 : Rs 7600.00 (MRP: 8950.00)
GTO 427 : Rs 2250.00 (MRP:2750.00)
GTO 937 : Rs 4000.00 (MRP: 4950.00)
GT4 Amp : Rs 5600.00 (MRP: 6350.00)
Tsunami Wiring Kit : 2500.00 (MRP: 2650.00)
Parcel Tray (Wooden) : 750.00

Total : Rs 22,700.00. (Rounded off to Rs 22,500.00 )

All items (except the parcel tray) with Bill and Warranty. I have already despatched the Blaupunkt warranty card to the company and will register JBL speakers on their website today.

I will post the pictures by Sunday.

I am also planning to write in detail about the problems I faced during installation. Believe me, it was very very frustrating. But Blaupunkt service was absolutely TOP CLASS. More about it later.

Thanks Panky. Yes, it sounds really good. And Spark's size has contributed in making it even better.
