I have not picked up double din frame and trim yet. Actually confused, which would be a good option? Provided I do not have access to good workmanship, most of the fellows I visited didn't have any clue or not interested in doing it.

Can I we get a double din frame and trim for fiesta which will give a neat finish to the Dash without any gaps or major modification will be required ?

Double din frame type is easiest to fit but there will be marginal gaps. with change of car its easy to transfer everything. there is least risk of damaging the delicate lcd unit.

If you have a good hand then fixing the lcd frame to front panel can be tried. for this buying a spare case is recommended if you are not sure of the outcome, since it doesn't cost much. the main thing is getting the best angle in mounting.

I am looking for a low profile PCI sound card, any suggestions? trying to keep the PCI express free for graphics card. Also don't want full size ones

I am in process of setting up a Carputer for my next car. I have configured a basic system and running Windows Xp as the OS. I need to know where can I procure Centrafuse frontend for use in the Carputer and How much should it cost?

You can buy it directly from them.

Centrafuse™ | A Whole New Way

Standard version (Others come with US/Europe/Australia maps, I presume you don't need them) : ~ Rs. 3400

Fluxmedia has just released long awaited CentraFuse 3.5 Update.
Grab it here. Centrafuse™ | A Whole New Way

I tried it, and crashed my test pc. lucky i didn't load in the carputer

Even i am not happy with 3.5. Interface is not smooth. its sluggish. lots of members are complaining on CF forum. most annoying bug is scrolling. You cant see the last item when you scroll to bottom.
I have uninstalled it and reverted it to 3.1.

Need Help with the CarPC.

Guys I have a CarPC with which was removed from my car, as it was being sold. I was just running Windows XP on the system and the Satguide Navigation software on the system. It is a Intel D201GLY2 Based machine with 1 GB Ram. It was a basic 2 Channel Output for sound was enough for me as I was just running two speakers installed in the car.

I have recently put up the system for sale in the classified section as I was thinking of selling it and investing in 2 Din A/V Player for my car. Uptil now I have received not any decent offer for the system, so I am contemplating on upgrading the system and probably installing it in my other car.

I would like to incorporate following features to the system.
A Frontend Like Centrafuse
Multiple Display capability with option of running different applications of different screens.
Vehicle Diagnostics
GPS Navigation

I am not very well versed with the options available locally in Hardware. So need all the help from you guys to decide what can be the best route for me.

You can add all you Need easily except for dual display . That depends on the motherboard capability. Spares array available locally from iride or you can import them without much trouble. You might need new display trim for the new vehicle

Thanks for the Help Gigy !! Can you suggest an upgrade option for M/Board and Processor combo which supports a Better Graphics, Multichannel Sound Capabilities(5.1 Channel at least) and tuning options. I would like to upgrade to the Core2Duo Processor if possible.

In one of the threads you have talked about a Jetway Geforce Series M/Board, is it a good option. My only worry is my M-3 ATX power supply which is rated for 125 Watts. Would like a M/Board and Processor Combo that M3-ATX can handle and get better Audio/Video capabilities.

Also I am having trouble with receiving signal from my GPS receiver when I use centrafuse. It is a Microsoft GPS-360 Wired USB Receiver, it works pretty ok with Satguide software. Although I was able to copy paste the Sat Guide Maps in Centrafuse.

Can you suggest an option for FM Receiver for the CarPC.

Thanks in advance for your help on this.

Jasvinder,
Try Ultimate Computer DAB/FM Radio
Also HQTCi AM and FM Radio Tuner
There are more but these are the ones that carry the best reviews.
Most work good in home environment but face reception issues in the car environment.
But they can hardly be called VFM and if you add the shipping costs, you would be better off using a regular head unit as your radio source.

Cheers

YOu can look at MSI's E350-E45 mini-ITX motherboard or equivalent from asus or gigabyte for about 7.5k. Will easily go with the M3 power supply.

Cant say if the costly FM receivers will be able to pick up signal better than the cheaper ones.

IF satguide works fine with the gps receiver then it must work fine with centrafuse also. the port will not be shared unless you go for a port splitter in case you are trying to run both at the same time. If you are replacing go for a larger patch antenna based one. place it in front area and see that the windshield film dosen't have any screening effect to the signal.

:thumbs up I second that.
It's a great upgrage from the Intel Atom platform.
I am using the same MoBo for my carpc setup See thread
Its power efficient, has 10 USB ports(including 2 USB3.0 ports), does full HD playback and has 7.1 audio out.
Can be bought from SMC International, Nehru Place for RS.7300

Cheers
