when is this HU coming out, and at what price?
Pioneed india site has the info updated about this model. Please check it out.
I didn't know Pioneer had an India site. I have tried looking for it, but to no avail. Please post a link.

In the grey channels I have no clue, heard rumours that its available in Mumbai but it could be baseless.
Why not 7950 ?

I want grey... b&w would be too expensive. And since it's usually the CD lens that is the casualty of grey HUs, I don't care because I don't use CDs. The 7950 I like, but the 6050 if and when available should give the same features in a new look and
more importantly at a lesser price.

Actually Ford Madhan was right, the Singapore site does feature Indian distributors as well as authorized sales/service centers for North India. Thats where Iv got the info from, so call them and find out.

It may not be that much cheaper than you think buddy. Your really one of those
"have my cake and eat it too" type fella's arent you :p Its all good though!
P.S : DEH6050 and DEH7950 are Pioneer :eek: Hahahaha!
Well, I have pretty much resigned to the fact that Pioneer is probably the best VFM, especially given the fact that I don't want a basic one line display.
Anyway, got a quote for the 6050 - 9K, so yes, it's not cheaper. In fact it's 200-300 rupees more expensive. But it should be cheaper from whatever I have read on the internet. It's probably so because of less supply I suppose.

For those who want, here's the Pioneer
2008 Catalogue for ICE.
As far as I can tell the 6050UB and 7950UB have the same exact features and display. Basically the 6050 is a new 'package' for the 7950. To some it looks / works better, but to some it's worse.
I plan on demoing them both side by side when I get my install.
