Thanks nitrous...Do u think if i run IDV3 12 on this amp, will it do justice to it?? or does it need more power than 320?

When you bridge an amplifier (any amplifier) the impedance "seen" or perceived by the amplifier is halved. This stands true for all bridgeable amplifiers.

To run a 2 ohm load in bridged mode, you need an amplifier that is 1 ohm stable. True 1 ohm stable.

Sam, this question is for you. Some sites say the 1004 does 320RMS @ 4ohm bridged (ie for a sub)
Is it 320W RMS from 2 channels, when the other 2 channels are doing their 104*2 bit for the components/other speakers, or is it 320W RMS when its only supplying power through those 2 channels alone, and the other 2 are not in use. Confusing.
And the worst part is, different sites state different specs.
Well, we believe the JBL site of course, but the discrepancies are quite confusing even for someone who's decently ok with the already confusing numbers being thrown nowadays by all manufacturers.

i think the better way to ask this, what rms power will this give in a tri mode operation.

is it 104 x 2 for the fronts and 320 x 1 for the sub.

ID V3 is rated at 350W RMS i think. Running that with 1004 shouldnt be a problem, but IDV3 demands a dedicated mono amp to do justice to the Sub.

@KK I think since the thread is about JBL, he was talking about amps in this range, I believe than all the amps you've mentioned are considerably more expensive...

Re: Does the JBL GTO1004 compete the 75.4?

Is this amp good enough to power Infinity kappa 120.9w sub in bridged mode? I am looking for a a single amp/ single sub set up for my figo that can power front comps (bull audio) as well as a single sub (kappa 120.9w or infinity ref 1260w, both are rated at 300w rms at 4ohms). Ideally I wanted to go in for an mrp-m500 mono amp for the sub (using that in my ikon and very happy with it) but I just can't go in for 2 amps due to space limitations.

Also, ammenmaj mentioned that it's available for 9000 odd bucks in grey market, I checked up with Driven and he quoted 10,500 bucks for grey, could you let me know what's the grey market price in Delhi for gto 1004 amp these days?

Re: Does the JBL GTO1004 compete the 75.4?

GTO 1004 : 9-9.4K Grey, Karol Bagh, Delhi.

If you're looking for SQ with your bull comps, try Kenwood 8401/8404/840X/8XX amp.

Re: Does the JBL GTO1004 compete the 75.4?

Thanks for your feedback panky, but then the kenwood amps will be grossly under powering the above mentioned subs. In bridged mode, the kenwood amps will send out 180w to the sub while I'd like to feed them at least 300w. Is there a kenwood option available that can deliver approx. 300w to the sub in bridged mode. I am more or less decided on the infinity sub.
