JVC AVX800 is a good buy but within 30k you will only get it in Grey.
Don't bother about Sony if you want good SQ.
Pioneer too is good, but a lot more expensive than JVC.

The normal MP3/DVD units are fine. A lot of people have been using them & all of them say JVC is fine, but i have not heard from anyone about the double din players. I suggest you get it with bill & warranty.

I have a JVC DVD single din unit in my Santro and a double din JVC mp3 unit on my Verna (company fitted). The Verna's HU can't comment yet on the reliability factor since it's less than a month old. But I have to say it's tracking ability is stupendous, as in, when you want to move forward from the 1st song to say the 100th song, it happens in a jiffy.

The 2 year old DVD HU is a highly reliable unit and has not given me problems at all. Whenever the lens needs cleaning, you would know for, it would take time to read DVD's one run of the Lens cleaning CD and it is business as usual thereon.

Haven't had a good experience with my previously owned Sony HU's. Lens cleaning was never much of an option in them. The lens would pack up necessitating a Lens change which was as expensive as the HU itself. This I never chose as an option and the HU was always given away.

Depends on how much you want to participate in the process personally.

If you don't want any headaches, Autocop kit is the way to go. Just remember:
- They are giving a bundled offer, it will contain things that you may not use (front parking sensors! heh heh; rear parking sensors - in case you are too lazy to see what the camera is showing)
- They are selling at MRP for the bundle
- The bundle is priced in a way that you cant figure out individual prices

If you can participate, you can get a Rear View camera in Kanpur and get it wired by the car showroom guys to the JVC HU - they will oblige.

Hi,
The JVC AVX800 has been now replaced by the the JVC AVX810J. Here is a link to the AVX810J JVC Mobile Entertainment \ Model KW-AVX810J \ Features

Now, IMHO the AVX810J is the most VFM touchscreen DVD player there is. It retails for 26k in Mumbai (grey). Have heard good amounts of praise for this unit. Now this unit also supports a rear-view camera which you can get for approx 1k.

Look, a complete rear-view camera kit comes with the camera, a rear-view mirror mounted LCD and wiring to connect it. Now if you have an in-dash DVD unit like the JVC 810, then you can directly connect just the camera to the unit (since the 810 supports a rea-view cam), you do not have to buy the entire reversing kit IIRC. And you then get the entire rear-view on ur 7" DVD screen panel and it looks cool and neat.

I don't know much about the rear-view camera brands since i guess most of them are chinese anyway.

The above was just my 2 cents though!

Cheers

Nope, The AVX810J is the year 2008 model. The 800 is from the year 2006 range of JVC Head-Units whereas the 805 was a replacement to the 800 last year. As of now, the AVX 810J is the latest offering from JVC.

Cheers

I am currently using a JVC KD AVX33 single din DVD/USB/Bluetooth DIvx Compatible player for the last 6 months , no problems what so ever. I even use my portable 80 GB USB HDD for playing DVD quality movies and music
