JBL vs Audiobahn Woofer - What is Better?

hey all right now in my accent i have an audiobahn subwoofer in a ported box with a dedicated velocity amplifier what i wanted to know is how does the JBL missile woofer sound compared to audiobahn cause i want more thump and im getting the JBL woofer at a steal so is it worth getting it or just get a better amplifier and give my woofer some more juice which it can handel very easily as its power rating is 2000 watss peak?????

P.S-The JBL missile woofer is the one with an active woofer on one end and a passive woofer at the other end and an inbuilt amplifier, basically its a double ended bass tube.

put a better monoblock which can handle 700+ rms. preferably a rockford fosgate or audiobahn if budget permits.

jbl always over-rate their peak of the subs. always go on RMS for JBL. good luck
P.S. > with the bass tube JBL, it should really pound but u musnt give up audiobahn that easy! how big is the ported box of ur audiobahn?

Its abt 18" at the base abt 10" at the top and abt 21"wide with two ports 4"wide.
And the JBL im talking about is not the usual base tube but a tube with ne active and one passive woofer so i wanted to know if it will give ore punch than my audiobahn.

i meant that jbl have a bad habbit of over-rating their peak powers of their sub. & iceman91 was right. i think u just need a beter amp to handle to audiobahn. how many inch is ur audiobahn? is it SVC or DVC?

Audiobahn subs are great performers if u boost them up with as good an amplifier...I dont think u shud go spending for JBL sub if U already got one sub as good as Audiobahn. As iceman rightly said try Rockford Fosgate p6001 monoblock(600 watts) or if U got some doe ,close your eyes n go for Cerwin Vega EXL1000D Mono Class D(1000 watts Mono)...And pls dont go with 2000watts peak power stats of ur audiobahn,,,,u gonna be disappointed..heheee.coz it doesnt work that way...If you wana know any amp comparisons in specific and similar stuff, PM me.

then u can also drive each voice coil with individual monoblocks. i drove a kicker solobaric 15" with 2 mrd-301 alpine monoblocks and it was loud!! also in budget. could even go bigger but cost sonstraint. else buy a big single monoblock and run both coils off it by changin the ohmic value to 4ohms. should do though i perefer to run them at 2ohms.

i prefer runnin them @ 2ohms. & yea, 2 monoblocs for a DVC is a very good idea. btw iceman91, for how much did u buy the kicker L7 solobaric? u still gotit or sold it off? if yes, for how much?

i bought it for around 17k it was an l5 not l7. i had it for a couple of months and tehn sold it cos was too loud for the car...i had sever vibrations of all the nuts and bolts!!! i had used enough dynamat but still the vibratios got me really irritated...sold it of with the box for 25k.
i prefer to run sealed boxes...cos that meets the kind of frequencies i listen to.
