Now he gives me another option as mentioned below without the subwoofer for now:

Focal 165 A1 components( 2 way 6.5") in the front and Focal 690CA1 coaxial (6"x9") for the rear powered by Orion Cobalt co 600.4 .
This is his second option for my Accord for clean unadulterated music pleasure.
Do you guys have any suggestions?

Hi CK,
I heard their MMATS amp + Juggernaut Subwoofer setup in their demo car. To me it sounded more towards SPL side.
Havent heard the Orions. BTW how much they quoted?
Check out GWT and Yellowhat for more options.

I would avoid the Orion stuff... Demo the Focals before you buy. Some like them, some don't.

Orion is a big NO. Had a orion sub. Not up to the mark. But if you have auditioned it and you find the Orion stuff pleasing to your ears then its your decision!!

finally decided on the this configuration:

front:

Focal components 165A1

Rear:

Focal Coaxials 690CA1

Both amplified by Audison Lrx 4.5.
Hope this would end up decent.

Why don't you get a decent subwoofer?
I think that would help a lot in achieving good sound if put in a good box of your choice.

Nice choice of amps and front components.
I would stick to round coaxials for the rear if buying a sub.

say I dont go for the rear coaxials and plan on a sub as you mention; How do I power the sub woofer, another monoblock amp?or can i do it with the same amp?

My eclipse might have a twin sub setup and thats one of the major reason i want to saty away from a sub in this car.

You can use 2 channels in bridged mode from your current amp (LRX4.5) to power the subwoofer. You can also opt for a separate monoblock amp if you want to.

Orion today is just a big marketing scam. Back in the day they had some very interesting amps (225,250 etc).

I have not heard these 2 models but many claim that Focal's polyglass woofers are "diffcult". The people I talked to are good speaker designers who mostly do home audio. These poly glass woofers have a noticeable signature (one designer likned the signature to a nasl twang - aka Himesh) and this needs to be very carefully EQed out in the XO. Too much work in the XO and it kills the dynamics.

If you cannot audition a car with Polyglass woofers take a trip down to a good audio store that carries a brand called JM Lab and audtion some of JM Lab's speakers.

That said there are a lot of things these drivers do well. They are really sharp and more with great alacrity. This can make them very revealing and sometimes too much of a good thing can be intolerable especially over long listening sessions.
